    Best computer brand today?

In your opinion, what is the best brand of computer out there today? And what computer would you get? Please don't respond with 'Alienware for gamez' as I've heard that many times. I'm looking for a good computer that can support games, but I'm not looking to spend all that money on an Alienware computer.

    All input is appreciated!

To get what you really want, I would suggest building your own computer. My friend did it, and you wouldn't believe how much you save from building your own computer, rather than buying an expensive one already built like alienware.

Just make sure that you buy every single part necessary; not like you wouldn't know that.

    A good website I'd recommend is http://www.newegg.com

One that you built yourself. Nothing's more fun for me than going to my local CompUSA and picking up some new hardware

Yes, very true. Building your own computer is normally cheaper and much better. I have built a couple of computers with my uncle but in my house, I have a pair of Dells, a Gateway lap, and a Macbook (honestly I hate macs).

Honestly, I have always been happy with my Dells, but they aren't really made for gaming.. My gateway gets the job done, but its battery life is crap. Macbook...well I am unfamiliar with Mac OS so I never use it.

I generally don't like Dell but I gotta say their XPS series is really good and robust. So I'd go with Dell. But as others have said, the best option is to build your own computer (much cheaper, more fun, but takes a little time and stuff)

alienwares are actually extremely overpriced, the dell xps ones are about the same configs without the retarded plastic logo that makes it 2x more expensive

Thanks guys! I think I'm going to look into building one myself. It will take quite a bit of research but it should be good.

ASUS is very reliable, efficient and affordable to sum it all up. Sony vio is much more expensive, and you're only really paying extra for the label.

Yea my friend saved a SHIT load of money building the PC on his own. I didn't want to try building one, and I bought an ASUS PC. It's pretty good.

I've also been looking into the Dell XPS. They have insane specs and the one I have atm from '06 is just a beast. On top of that, the price is extremely good at ~1k for an XPS with over-the-top specs and hardware.
