    Getting a cheap PC
    I've (Finally) Earned enough off GFX and IRL to be able to almost afford a laptop, and my parents have agreed to fund the difference to about $400

    So, what is the best laptop I can get for about $400? Anything up to $450 is acceptable, but that's really stretching it.

    Dells and HP's are shitty and cheap. If that's what you're looking for I guess it makes sense..

    Everyone knows HP < Dell. At least Dell have a decent support site. Although $450 is here is like £280 which is not going to buy you anything decent at all for a laptop. I would recommend to continue saving so you can buy a decent laptop in the future, the more you spend the better the specs (most of the time).

    Yeah I'm aware of that, but in particular I"m looking for any good offers or laptops on sale. I'll absolutely have to buy the laptop sometime in June, so I can't save up much more - I'm really only going to need something that can surf the web, and use MS word.

    HP is good like the first person said and i never used Dell so i cant really tell you but one thing i do know is they are both Cheap and can last :p

    The RAM is pretty good, although the hard drive looks poor. The processor seems fair. If you're not planning on gaming, then this should be ok for Sythe, Email, web browsing and so on.

    I love sony laptops, sony viao is great imo. Dell obviously very good support mind you, tbh i'd highly recommend desktop pc's unless your really looking for the mobility
