Oh, well I suppose those are pretty decent for paint

I'd DL photoshop/gimp, then look around planetrenders' forum. They have some nice free tutorials

It's not paint, Paint.net is a less advanced and has less tools than PS/Gimp. But has some of the same things.

First off i suggest downloading PS or gimp if you want. Then when you make tags (signatures) don't over whore glow and fancy fonts as they look 'bad'. Try to keep things simple with text in signatures. If you want something that looks good and isn't an advertisement the text shouldn't take up the entire piece and should blend in and normally be pretty close to the main render/stock.

Secondly, try to avoid using runescape renders as they normally tend to be pixelated (where you can see the squares.) and overall low quality which is something you want to avoid with almost anything art related. Try combining different type's of effect stocks c4d's etc to make a nice tag instead of just using brushes. Brushes are fine but beginners normally overwhore them ( I did myself when i was first starting)

Lastly not least, Gradient maps gradient maps gradient maps! I'm not sure if paint.NET has access to them but if you take my advice and get photoshop they will make you're life 100x better in graphics. They help keep color scheme's together and look better. Don't just set them tho, play with the layer styles etc.

Edit: Should I be looking to download CS2 or CS5?

 

CS5 is the newest so it should be the best for you to download.

 

W00t is entirely correct, try read up some text placement tutorials and work on effects etc. Try working on smaller pieces then gradually make larger ones, so you can learn how to place certain elements appropriately.

sorry i cant realy say if ur thing is good or bad since i dont look at much gfx things on sythe. but wondering if u do some free gfx? i wouldnt mind the frist signture GFX but with the name: BARDIA SAEEDI
