[SUPPORT] "Banned" member profiles contain link to reason for ban! [SUPPORT]

I was on a thread today, and saw that Rawr Im Phat has been banned. I then realized how handy it would've been if I could have just gone to his profile, and seen the reason for his banning.

Newer users might have no idea why this person has been banned (They could have just asked to be banned, or even have done something as serious as scamming.), and the rest of Sythe can be kept in the dark.

So my suggestion is:

Banned members profiles contain a link, or small sentence detailing the reason for that members ban.

I searched for this suggestion on Sythe, and found nothing. If I am indeed wrong, and this has been suggested before, please say so and I'll close the thread.

Please support this idea, and hopefully it will be implemented.

Thanks Cosrob, but this suggestion would hopefully become a permanent requirement of all staff members, not just a user updated thread.

Whenever I see a banned person with thousands of posts, I always wonder what they were banned for if I don't already know.

I totally agree with this. This is a really great suggestion. Sometimes I also wonder why they were banned.

 

Support this , Its better to know why somebody has been banned [ Then we know who are fellow members of sythe are ]

 

It'd be a pain in the ass if someone's a ban evader, constantly having to give an explanation to why they're banned, when you could just use the thread that is already used for this purpose.

Just ask where they've gone and you'll have someone tell you.

Another problem is that even though its not codified, ban reasons are meant to be private.

 

It'll be a pain in the ass for the moderators to go back and have to put in the ban reasons. No support.

 

No support. Most of the ban reasons can be found in the Spam Forum or in 'Where did ____ go' thread. On top of that, some bans and demotions aren't released to the users because of a private issue or whatever.

 

I suggested this a long time ago and got the following response:

'Permanent bans are usually for scamming and temp bans for spamming'.

 

@Gohan - No point editing it in for the older bans, but whenever someone gets banned now, it will be a reason on their profile page.
@Hahanerd - Well if it's too private, you don't need to add a reason.

Simple curiosity is not a valid reason to put extra work on the staff.

If you really are curious enough, ask someone. If the person was anybody, someone will know.

There are thousands, maybe over 10k banned accounts on this forum, so it is pointless to edit a ban reason on their profile page.

But for the newer bans, it should be.

 

I meant the new ones.

There are hunders of vaders who get banned per day.
