Misleading Trades

Background:
Since I got a TWC for this, I'd like to include my thread here as it could serve as a reference for the report I'm about to make. My TWC was placed for "bad trading practices" because of a misleading trade where I never specified if it was me, or my client who would meet in-game to receive the gold.

Explanation of the trade: So I went to RealistGold's livechat and asked them if they have 400m Alora. They responded with a yes, and then I proceeded to ask how the trade would go. I know Realist never holds stock, so when he told me that he would meet up and trade me on Alora, I knew this was obviously misleading because he failed to mention that I would be going through a supplier, and not through him.

Other relevant trade screenshots:
-Him saying he would meet me on Alora to do the trade.
-Proof he doesn't hold stock, and has buyers + suppliers that meet in the RSPS to do trades.

I got in trouble for not specifying if my supplier was going through me, or my client who purchased the RSPS gold, so I figured this would apply here since @Realist, and his livechat workers are misleading people to believe that they'd be going through them, instead of the supplier unless asked, which was the same in my case where I received the TWC.

Evaluating this situation with other staff

 

This isn't really a realistic situation seeing as OP never had any intentions of trading with us instead looking for a small loophole in our wording to get someone else twc'd with him in spite.

If he was a real customer that had continued to purchase with us (he only reached about step 1 out of 5 steps), we would have followed standard procedure in accordance to the thread here:

BAN RISK ON RSPS TRADES -- READ THIS'

This standard procedure includes:

1) before even allowing any customer to order we ask them:

"are you aware of possible risks of rwting on rsps? some rsps' are more risky than others: bans/gold being taken away by mods etc? we do not hold any responsibility for bans/lost gold and refunds are not issued, this is the risk you are assuming. we ask all customers as standard policy 1

(PLEASE REPLY YES OR NO)"

^ in OP's case I don't see any mention of this and imo this is why he was twc'd coupled with him being shady.. (can't see what was discussed with mootrucks so can't fully judge that)


2) We would have said 'supplier is on the way' or a mention of the supplier after he purchased


At any of these points a standard customer would be able to pull out and cancel if they are afraid of the risks they are to assume. In his case it was too late as the transaction was completed.

OP knew prior to posting that we use this method, in OP's TWC thread you can clearly see this:




OP got twc'd for not conveying the ban risk to his customer and as a result, that person lost money and reported him, we on the other hand accurately convey the risk and do not shelter the fact that we use a 'drop-ship' method. The fact OP knew this as stated above shows his intentions clearly.

Most if not all traders follow this thread: BAN RISK ON RSPS TRADES -- READ THIS if it was requried to inform everyone that we drop-ship or get a twc then this will set precedence for a lot of people to get twc'd from 07/rs3/rsps trades as most do not say before the trade that they are drop-shipping even though a lot of trades are done through drop-shipping nowadays which OP acknowledges:




OP had 0 intentions of ever ordering from us and hadn't gone through the full procedure of buying with us, as a result this isn't an accurate depiction and in no way comparable to his reckless trading.

Lastly, using this method for RSPS has actually proven to be more beneficial for customers and we have seen a mass decrease in bans for both parties as a result. When we held gold the orthodox way we would be identified as a rwting account/ip and any account connected in interaction (trades etc) would in turn be banned.

Let me break down your response for each point you've presented. Before I get into it, I know you've been a reputable Sythe user for a while, and you seem very well spoken, but it actually astonishes me that you've seemed to ignore, and not acknowledge the fact that you've actually been misleading customers by saying that.

Most of these points are invalid, and seem like cluttered garbage to try and help you plead your case, so I'll break down the ones I found most important.

Look at it like this for example, I go to your live-chat as a regular customer and ask you if you will meet me on the certain RSPS (Alora in this case) to trade GP, and you say yes to that, but as soon as I place an order you would tell me that you don't hold stock, and that it would be a supplier trading you, then how would you expect me to feel? You should've mentioned that through either of the live-chats that I was in, but you never did (and I was there for 5-10 minutes with no response after that), so obviously you're either full of crap, or you're too lazy to mention that to every customer, or you mislead customers, then tell them that after they order because in this instance you failed to mention that one bit. Regardless, whoever I am you treat every customer the same, and every rule, ToS, etc should apply to every customer, so don't make excuses when you fail to mention that here.

In my ToS I've always stated that Trading is under your own risk, and that I am not liable for any losses/bans after you obtain the gold, but I will try to prevent bans as much as possible through the precautions I take, so what are you talking about when you say that I don't convey the risk? It seems to me you're delusional, and trying to make me look worse by putting words in my mouth.

And don't try to say I have bad intentions when you haven't even looked into my case clearly enough. If you took the time to read it all, and not make such a useless response, then you would realize that I had zero bad intentions, and already paid out the order before he got banned. I even compensated all the money he lost out of the own good of my heart when I never had to, so don't try to make me look like a bad guy here when that's not the case at all. All your other points were invalid, and cluttered nonsense/garbage as mentioned before, but if you want me to respond to everything else I won't hesitate to do so.

 

It is very troubling that private server traders have operated this way without actually informing their customers who they were trading. This is understandably frustrating to customers who get banned thinking they were trading someone trustworthy when they were actually trading someone they had never spoken to before.

I have updated the sticky to address this issue. After a 24 hour grace period for shops to make adjustments, this will be enforced. I have also removed rebornkings' twc since this practice is unfortunately widespread and rather than give out a dozen twc's I am just removing his. I hope in 24 hours this will never again be a problem
