How to manage your site/forum (Site Security, etc.)

Ok, first off you know that when you have a copy of your site, you will gain less rep and it will become annoying to your user and yourself.

This is basically how you can keep control of your site and keep bad rep away from your site :)

    Requirements:
    Internet

    Computer (A-DUH)
Website (Not a free forum host or *** or .co.nr site)
    Brains
CPanel (THIS WILL HELP A LOT)

    Guide 1

First things first: How to stop others from making a site like yours with the same name but different domain.

Step 1: Make a Godaddy account

Step 2: Bid for a site domain (NOT ALREADY OWNED)

Step 3: And Once it says that that domain is in your cart you are done.
    (Parked Free)

Now, look. This will keep stupidasses away from trying to steal your sites name.

All of those domains that are in your cart will stay there until someone bids higher than you.

This is what the site in your cart would look like.

    Guide 2
    Stopping Hotlinking (CPanel Needed)

This is called Hotlinking Protection in your CPanel

    Step 1: Click Hotlinking Protection

Step 2: Type in the sites that are the only ones you want to link to files on your site

Step 3: To make more specific, if you don't want others to see .html files on your site that aren't on your list add it to: Extensions to Allow

Step 4: Now, hit activate and you are done :)

    Guide 3
Password Protecting Certain Pages of Your Site (CPANEL NEEDED)

Ok, this will password protect certain parts of your site, Directories actually, as /forums, /cgi-bin , etc.

Step 1: Click Password Protect Directories

Step 2: Choose which part of your site you want someone to have a password for

Step 3: Click the checkbox at the top

Step 4: In the Username/ Password box type in what you want the name and password to be on the popup

Step 5: Hit Add/Modify user and you will be done :D
