BaYBeeZ ~ Guide: Redeeming and Understanding XBL Codes

BaYBeeZ ~ Guide: Redeeming and Understanding XBL Codes

After having my 48 Hour code selling thread open for quite a while now, I have made the decision to point users in the direction of this thread for any questions regarding Redeeming Xbox Live codes.

    Let's first cover the basics.

There are three different types of codes that users are able to redeem:
    • XBL Subscription
    • Microsoft Points
    • Down-loadable Items
Note: Regardless of which you are redeeming, your code will ALWAYS be 25 characters.

You have two options as to where you can redeem the codes.
    • Xbox.com
    • Xbox 360 Dashboard

    Method One: Xbox.com
I am first going to cover the xbox.com method because I feel it is much more convenient and easy to use.
Therefore I will go more in depth with this option and offer the Xbox 360 Dashboard method as an alternative.

    Step One:
Go to xbox.com and sign in (top right corner) to the profile you wish to redeem the code on.
In order to do this, you will need your Windows Live ID information. This is the Email address associated with the account, along with your password.

    Step Two:
After signing in, be sure to check the gamertag you are signed into so you know you will be redeeming the code on the correct account.
In the top right corner, first click the green drop down arrow and then click on My Account.

    Step Three:
Click on the Redeem Code option on the left hand side of your screen.

    Step Four:
    Insert your 25 Digit Code.

This is where the Understanding part of my guide kicks in, especially for those that trade or sell XBL codes in the forums.

I feel these are the three most prevalent messages you will see in order to determine if you are being scammed:

If the code has been redeemed, you have nothing to worry about. Everything was successful.

If the code has already been used, you know that it has already been redeemed and are possibly being scammed.

If the code is invalid, you have either typed it in wrong or are being given a fake code.

    Method Two: Xbox 360 Dashboard

    Step One:
Turn on your Xbox 360 and sign into the account you want to redeem the code on.

    Step Two:
Press the guide button located on the middle of your controller.

    Step Three:
Scroll to the far left Marketplace tab. Scroll down and select the "Redeem Code" Option.

    Step Four:
    Enter your code and confirm!
