Guide to rip a video/audio from any site

This is a guide to rip videos off any video streaming site. I found this helpful knowing there's some youtube videos as well as songs. This especially works great with streaming media as you can directly rip it into a .mp3 and listen to it whenever! So let's get started!

    Requirements:
    -FireFox
-Videodownload Helper (also does audio, it's a media ripper)
    -VLC Player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html)

Step one: (FireFox + Videodownload helper)
If you do not have firefox, go to www.firefox.com and install it.
After you have firefox installed, go to http://www.downloadhelper.net/install.php to install the firefox addon Videodownload helper. It will ask you to restart firefox for the addon to go in effect. Simply restart it.

    Step two: Ripping videos.
Go to the video site you'd like to download the media from, let it buffer all the way. At the top of the screen, you'll see an atom. If it's colorful and spinning it means there's media that can be ripped on that site.

    No media available icon:

    Available rippable media icon:

To rip a video, go to the tab with the media streaming on it. In this case, I'm on youtube on another tab. Click the media tab which will activate the icon indicating the media is rippable.

Click the highlighted arrow beside the atom to view the rippable content. For youtube videos, you have an HD option or standard. Personally, I go with standard. You may also change where the file will be saved to, I always choose my desktop so I can place it where I want later on.

After clicking on the file you want to download, you see the title of the video that was uploaded. You may change this to whatever you please but do note, you need to add .flv to the end of the file name or it will be a null file!

To play the .flv file, go to the folder you saved the .flv file in then use VLC Player which supports FLV files then simply play the file through the VLC player, and that's all that there is to it! (here's a screenshot, but it blanked out the video for some copyright reason)

Step three: Ripping mp3's and other music extensions.
The same applies for ripping music as it does for videos, just a different format.

First, go to a media streaming site as in www.playlist.com, type in the song name or artist you'd like to rip music from and press play on the songs till you find one you desire.

    Once found, follow these instructions:

You may re-name the .mp3 to whatever you wish but make sure you put the extension of .mp3 at the end of the title.

For music, if the .mp3 has a song title + artist it will be as if you downloaded it from iTunes or a legit source. It may also have album art and recognize it as if it was from a CD. So you'll be getting the legit song, but from a third party source.

Since this is public, and you are streaming the media, that is basically downloading it since it buffers on your computer so downloading it is no different. Therefore, you are breaking no law by doing such a thing. This is free legit music and videos, works on any streaming video/audio site. I hope this helped, will update as required.

I'd suggest formatting the guides to make them look nicer. Your guides are quite good quality, but it seems you rushed some of them. I believe you can do better.

Keep up the good work mate ;) 8/10

Thanks, that's why I say I will update it. I try to get the rough draft in, then update it frequently as I see changes. Yes - I do see changes but I'm rather excited to get them up there. So, I simply change when needed. Do you see anything that needs changing? Opinions are greatly appreciated!
