Battlerite Free-To-Play Release!

Hey all. Not sure how many heard of this game. Battlerite has been available on Steam in Early Access for over a year now. I've put in roughly over 100 hours into this game and have to say it's extremely addicting.

As an avid World of Warcraft PVP'er and League of Legends player over the years, this game feels like a combination of both: World of Warcraft arenas without all the crowd control effects and League of Legends without the laning phase. If you like player-verse-player combat I definitely suggest giving this game a try.

Each game is action packed with the option of choosing between 21 different champions varying from support, range and melee. Many/most of each champions abilities consist of skill-shots. There is a ranked system similar to League (Bronze-Grand Champion) and a variety of competitive modes (solo que, team 2v2, team 3v3 also casual mode and AI modes for beginners!). There has also been a newly released battleground mode although I have not dabbled in it much yet.

There are a variety of cosmetic rewards for each champion as well as many different mounts. They have seasonally themed events which add new rewards and cosmetics into the game for a limited time (just got finished with the Halloween event).

Regardless, if you guys are bored and are looking to try a new game I highly suggest you guys checking this one out! The company that designed the game, Stunlock Studios, seems to be taking great pride in this game and the developers do a phenomenal job keeping the community updated at all times. Battlerite will be offically free-to-play on Steam at 16:00 CET.

I bought it a few months back when it was in early access. I thought I'd love it since I loved playing WoW arenas, and I really enjoy League. I didn't have as much fun as I thought I would, and probably wouldn't buy it for $20 again if I did it over again. For some reason I wasn't a fan of the third person view coupled with 'wasd' movement. I would have preferred to click to move similar to League but that's just a personal opinion and I am sure I am in the minority.

That being said, it's a great game and I did have a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend giving it a shot since it's F2P now. The rounds are pretty quick and from what I could see, the characters were all pretty fun to play.
