Basic Skating, Tricks ect. Pics included!

Hi, this is my second guide, in this guide I will teach you 3 basic skating tricks. The Ollie, The 'Popshuvit', and The 90° - 180° Ollie, but first, here are the parts of a skateboard- (Heh, my mutated old thing. Excuse the shitty editing.)

The Ollie:
This is the most basic 'air-gaining' trick you can do while skating. The 'ollie' is when you lift yourself, and the board into the air. It can look quite impressive once you have mastered the height.

Step 1:
Place your feet in the postition below, the back foot should be on the tail, with the edge hanging off, or where-ever feels comfortable. The front foot should be just below the front truck bolts.
Like this-


Step 2:
Slam down on the tail of the board, and slide your front foot up to the nose, literally slide it along the griptape. (at the same time you pushed down on the tail.)

Step 3:
When you are in the air, level out the board by placing weight on the back, and land with most of your weight there.

The Pop-Shuvit:
The pop-shuvit is the also another basic trick. It involves you remaining stationary while the board twists below you in a 180° motion. The board may move forward a little.

Step 1:
Place your feet in the ollie position.

Step 2:
Put a little weight on the back of the board, and do a sweeping motion with your front foot. While doing this, jump into the air, and a little bit forward.

The 180° Ollie:
The 180° ollie is a normal ollie, which you do while moving, except your body and your board will rotate in a 180° motion, together.

Step 1:
Place your feet in ollie postition. (While moving.)

Step 2:
Begin to ollie, but swing your arms and your upper body/torso around behind you.

Step 3:
Balance out the board.

Congratulations, this trick requires alot more practice than the above ones, but is alot more rewarding.

that guide was pittifully short and non-descriptive... Lucky i already know how to skate coz this guide would have taught me nothing... No offence clank i still love you and all but try and make it more detailed in your descriptions.

 

Backside 180's are easier if you hand your front foot toes over, and you back foot down.

 

might wanna add how you will reck your shoes whilst doing an ollie

good guide I guess but as mentioned above, vids would be nice havnt realy skated in a year or so reading this made me wanna go down to the park though.

lol I was just wanting to learn how to do a 180 while skating around today now I luck came by here and now I know how to do it. so tomorrow I shall learn.

edit:do you really think backsides are easier cause i could frontside 180 awhile before backside
