    Best methods/Food for trimming Body-Fat ratio

    Sorry, I guess the title should be "Body Muscle-Fat ratio";

    I'm pretty content with my body, however I've never had that 6-pack (or any "pack" for that matter). I still have a bit of chub on my abdomin/core and I'd like to rid myself of that. In fact, I'd really like to become as healthy as humanly possible.

    Big goal? Whatever; 4-days a week I do PT (physical training, military-style) with some friends. We run, do push-ups, crunches, leg-lifts, 'rock-climbers', planks and lunges. As time goes on we increase our duration/frequency/intensity,etc. On the 5th day (or if it's shitty weather) I go to the gym for some endurance training.

    I'm content with my working-out methods, but is there anything else I should include? [I know I want abs, but don't suggest more core exercises, as the majority of exercises include the core and with time I get better at them.]

    How about food/eating suggestions? I don't care if I have to give up satisfying my taste buds and eat the least tasty foods out there if it betters my body and helps me achieve my goal(s). Breakfast/lunch/dinner/in between? What types of food can everyone suggest? As far as I know, keep it organic, subtle (low amounts every 3 hours) and stay away from sugar/white flour foods. I also add in spicy foods to what I eat (cayenne pepper ftw!) to help digestion.

    Thanks friendly folk of Sythe! (First post in many months of leaving too! Yay ^_^ )

    Definately Be juicing/making smoothies when you can, and if you can get organic fruit. Steam vegetables EVERY night, as they have little to negative calories, yet fill you up and regulate other bodily functions. Just if you can, completely stop sugar, or at most only do it one day of the week. If you can, lift weights (Heavy, 3 sets of 8-12, last set should be VERY hard for the last 3)and just keep at it :)

    Thank you! Lifting weights is definitely a prerogative but I'm always so exhausted after PT :p . I've never been quite in shape as to being able to keep my heart going for a while so this is more important than muscular strength at the moment, but like I said I do it when I can!

    Very true about the smoothies, although what kind of smoothies would you suggest? Little sugar but fruit smoothies :eek: ? I know it's natural and healthy fruit, but it's still sugar nonetheless correct? My sugar intake is usually minimized to sugar found in milk for the morning and a banana after workout (among most things).

    Thanks for the reply and advice!

    The juicing/smoothies and veggies cutting would require a lot of fiber substituted as well.

    If you want definition then you should be building muscles by increasing lifts while cutting properly. Typically athletes and endurance training individuals will have more bodyfat on them, even if they are in superior shape. I would recommend intermittent fasting, essentially 16 hours not eating and 8 hours for eating. An example would be waking up around 6-7am and not eating until 12pm, having a large meal, then shakes before/after workouts and to stop eating before 8pm.

    I'd recommend looking at Martin's Blog, www.leangains.com, he has a ton of useful info gathered.

    Thanks! I'm always into trying new diet methods. I've actually decided to next 3 weeks (ending 7/1/13) that I'm going to eat a ton and go to the gym to lift as much as I can. Then the rest of the summer I will proceed to cut down. I have a strong urge to get bigger suddenly ;)

    To get rid of that "Belly fat" you'll need to cut down your daily calorie intake, you need to more calories then you intake.

    If you eat 1,500;
    You need to burn 1,600+ a day to start seeing some progress.

    i find the best way to remove stomach fat is to :

    Do not eat bread
    Do not drink Alcohol
    Do not drink fizzy pops
    Drink Water( and pretty much only watER)
    Dont have anything high in carbs such as pasta.
    You can still eat the same amount of calories, but you need to cut the carbs
    Eat every 4 hours (preferably small amounts High in protein very low in carbs)
    Even diet pop such as diet coke is bad because of the levels of aspartme (something like that) actually bloats out your stomach.

    Took me 2months to lose 2 stone in body fat with training and eating as i said above.. Try it out.

    Have fun training
