Question to the mod/admins

So a recent post got me thinking, anybody can answer this but I would like the people who answer the scam reports to answer this.

Person A sells an account to person B
The trade goes well everything is alright.
The next day Person B claims that person A recovered the account.
When in reality person A never did, but person B is just saying that so person A might get banned or have to refund so he gets his money back and keeps the account.
What kind of seller protection is there?

So how would you handle this dispute?

 

There are many variables that can come into play, but generally either Person A will be required to recover the account back or a staff member will attempt to recover the account based on the info Person A provided to Person B. If the seller legitimately did not recover the account back, then Player B will not be able to hold a valid case.

 

can you name some variables that come into play? And lets say Person A recovers the account back for him, everyones happy, a few days later Person B claims the password has been changed again.

 

I know you directed this question to mods but I think I can give a bit of info that could help. When person B gets the account, he also gets the necessary information to recover the amount. Or so he should, unless he is new and naive and does not ask for the information

Edit: I have never bought/sold account. This is just my guess.

 

If party 1 buys an acct off of party 2, and a few days later it is recovered, the best and easiest thing to do is screenshot the i.p. address when you go to login and bring it to RaS for an I.P. check of the person you bought it from.

If i.p.'s match = party 2 = banned.

 

That sounds like a good idea.

What if the scenario is Person A doesn't have enough info to recover, if you had an account for like 2 years you usually don't have the info (But you specified to the buyer that you don't have enough info to recover before the trade)

 

It would then probably depend on how much proof Person B and Person A has.
