In April I sold my rare name "Funny" to crooks. I needed the money right away and the name wasn't RFT, so i said "Hey, Just hold onto my account for 28 days and transfer it off, and i'll grab my account back after the month"

I quit the "Runescape" scene for 3 months, and in June i PM the guy i sold my name to and asked what the password was. He gave me something along the lines of "Sorry i dont have your account anymore, i trusted it with a friend, at least i thought he was my friend". And then apparently THAT guy sold it to another person and another person.

I was pissed that this guy gave away my account and got it hacked when he was only supposed to be transferring the name off. Anyway so I recovered my account and the name Funny was still on it, now they're claiming I sold it and recovered it like a scammer. I logged onto my account and all the recoveries, JAG, had all been changed.

I sold the name. Crooks gave away the account and got it hacked. The hacker sold it, it got sold again and THAT person probably thought he bought a legitimate account and thats why he was upset when i recovered it.

I need crooks to chime in on the situation but i havn't heard from him in a while.

 

You should have cut ties to the account once you sold it the first time, and recieved the payment. It was no longer yours, you should of had nothing to do with the account once it was out of your hands and passed into someone elses, regardless of what happened to it.

Being "pissed" that someone did something to an account you no longer owned isn't grounds to recover it.

I wanted the ACCOUNT. I didn't want the NAME. I needed the money right away so i said "You take the account for 1 month, transfer the name off, and give it back" because I still want my account. It was my main account 2009-2012 with lots of quests done and memories and i'm not just going to give it away with my name sale. I made this very clear. 3 months later i decided I wanted to replay only to find out my account was no longer in his possession.

I believe when coke tried to resell the name, he trusted someone with the account to transfer it off, but instead it got hacked. That account then got resold and maybe resold again, causing a lot of people to believe I hijacked my own account back. That is inconvenient that down the chain somebody was scammed of an account that thought they legitimately bought even though a user hacked it and sold it.
At least THAT is what i've pieced together from the few sentences coke has told me. Please contact him and get his imput on the situation because he wasn't very clear on what happened. The name 'funny' belongs to him and i'm willing to give him my account again so he can move it off.

Still, you tried to resell the name, meaning you had little to no plans on returning said name to its owner.
