Guide on how to download MP3s from YouTube

This is my 2ND user education guide. This guide will simply teach you how to download and convert your favourite videos into a useable MP3 file for your ipod. You may just want to download the video itself for your ipod, in which case, you can also convert the video so that it is compatible with your ipod! .



This is particularly aimed you those of you who don't have heaps of money to spend on itunes or any other music downloading website .

1 - DOWNLOADING THE YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER

Visit www.youtubedownload.altervista.org to download the youtube downloader. You should arrive at a webpage which looks something like this..



Click on the "DOWNLOAD NOW!" button to start your download.

Once the programme has downloaded, an icon should appear on your desktop which looks like this..






2 - SELECTING AND DOWNLOADING YOUR VIDEO

Select your chosen video from www.youtube.com by searching the name of your chosen video into the search bar. You will be presented with a list of videos, click on one of them and check to see if it is the right song.

Once you are sure it is the right song, highlight and copy the URL in your browser. Example..



Once the URL has been copied, go to your desktop and open the Youtube Downloader. Paste the URL into the "Enter Video URL" section..



Select "Download video from Youtube" and click OK to start your download.






3 - CONVERTING YOUR VIDEO

Once your video has downloaded, select it from clicking on the folder icon and choosing the video from your folder..



Click OK once the video has been selected, and choose "High Quality".

Whilst your video is converting, you will see a window like this..



Once your download is complete, the window will let you know .

You're now done .

yeah this is a good method, however the music quality is lost or sometimes the music from the video is not the best quality.

 

From experience, the song quality is the same as if you download it from somewhere else .

 

Hmm. I have had this same program for a few months now. It is usually a fast download, but there is a faster way. If you are using firefox, get the add on that downloads videos as flv. format. It downloads twice as fast as the youtube downloader. Then use the youtube converter to change the file formant to mp3 or whatever you want.
If you want to rip a song but do not want to save it as a video, download normally, but use the converter to change it into an audio mp3 layer format.
If you have audacity and the lame mp3 encoder, you can edit/save as an mp3 and add it directly to the song library, not as a video.

You can also use www.mediaconverter.org In which you don't have to Dowload any Software.

 

Meh, couldn't you just use www.listentoyoutube.com? Sounds much easier than to download and do all that stuff.

In my own personal experience; using online converters takes alot longer.
