Just how dangerous is botting atm? (OSRS)

Is it just me, or is jagex getting a lot more strict with botting? I used to bot so many hours / day without getting banned, now it seems that jagex catches everyone...

Yea the glory days of when Nexus was around etc. are gone now.
Jagex has put a lot of time and effort into their botting systems, but botting is still done by thousands of people and gold farming is still very viable, you just need to be smarter about how you go about doing it.

You will get banned, even with premium scripts sometimes you can get banned within hours. The good days of botting are over, and I wouldn't recommend it at all unless you're botting a new account to get it started and then giving it up.

Yeah ban rates for 07 are high, I had a pure get hit with a ban yesterday, had 99 mage, 99 strength, 94 range. Funny thing is I haven't botted on it in about 3 months, then the 2nd day I decided to get back on it to max out, it got hit with a ban. Sucks, guess it's time to move on from RS

I think the summary of the thread is.. you will most likely get caught no matter what you do. Botting is really hard to do without getting caught nowadays. Even if you run a script and socialize while it's in progress, you will still get caught. I'm not aware of very many antiban methods, I'm not sure there are any (at least not any reliable ones). With modern technology, Jagex somehow has managed to find a way to figure out who is and isn't botting. You definitely still hear stories of people who bot and don't get caught, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. Bans are also sometimes delayed. If you get away with botting for a week and stop, you still may get banned months down the road.

Jagex seem to be putting more time into bot banning. They're hosting numerous live streams atm purely based around finding and banning botting. It seems in my opinion 07 banning is reaching the level of RS3 which has been very high for a while :/

 

Oh yeah? Damn that sucks. Well rs3 doesn't have any "live streams of bot banning" , so basically oldschool hasn't reached that level yet because mods still have to go around manually banning people.

 

I think it's more of a consolidated PR effort by Jagex. In an attempt to highlight and showcase how 'Anti-botting' they are they stream it so 'Dedicated' old school players can be inspired haha

Personally i been botting 3 fresh new accounts just to kinda test ban rates and stuff, 2 of them botting about 8-10 hours a day, still no bans. Its been 5 days since i started with the first account so lets see whats up...
