Quote Notifier

i suggest a system that will alert you when/if someone has quoted you in a post, and provide a link to said post. it would be really helpful for watching multiple threads at the same time, without worrying about missing anything or forgetting which threads you did/didnt post on.

if there is something already like this, or this idea has been suggested, or you straight up think it sucks, just delete my post. =P

This has been suggested before. The way in which quotes work make it very hard to alert you and there isn't much point to it. Just check the threads you post in if you want to continue talking or whatever.

thanks for the support. i see it as more of a convenience for those that have a very wide range of threads/sections they post on.

 

I was thinking about this a while ago, I think it would come in very handy. Support.

 

I'm pretty neutral here. It would help me keep track of what people are saying, but it would flood my wherever it goes to place. And just do what Tyro said (subscribe to a thread). It's pretty much the same, but I never used it and never will.

 

Good idea, however you could just type your name in the search and from there if someone has quoted you, it will pick it up, and you can see. It could be overused on spam forum for ezample someone could just get a lot of people to just keep quoting etc and you'll get a lot of notifications, however I support.

 

I'm sure you'd be able to disabled notifications from spam forum, for this exact reason. It doesn't bother me going back to check on threads if I need to, but if it helps other people, then sure, I'll support.
