Some of you may remember me, most of you probably don't. During the six years of my Sythe.org membership, not sure I ever thought I'd go out like this. My Sythe account was recently hacked, and during that period a user was allegedly scammed $536. Now, unfortunately they were scammed via a BTC transaction, so there's little way of verifying who received the money, but enough evidence exists to require a payment back to the user. Unfortunately I don't have the funds to toss around right now, so this will be a farewell post, not a repayment.

I apologize to the user that was scammed. If truly you were scammed, I hope that you're able to recuperate sufficiently. I recommend ALL users engaging in high value trades to examine the Sythe account of the other party. One look at mine would have revealed I haven't been active in the market in years. Suddenly returning and participating in high value trades would be a red flag at the least. Many of the moderating team know me personally/have my snapchat/phone number and could have verified with me easily. However, what's done is done, no re-do's. My mistake was not having the 2FA that I have enjoyed protecting me on nearly every other account of mine. For whatever reason I was sure I had it active on Sythe, but I was no longer active and never really checked.

I'd like to take just a moment to thank a few people on Sythe, as they have had the most profound impact upon these last six years of membership:

n4n0/Ryan: Keep up the good work, you were always good for a laugh and entertaining Skype / Twitch / TinyChat sessions. Thanks for the memories

Dave: Back in the prime of my Sythe membership you were among the people I spoke with daily, always a trustworthy pal.

Superman: You've been a consistent force as a moderator for a long time, and always someone I rely on to judge fairly in site related matters.

Sengira: Loved this guy, most didn't know him. RIP.

Thought you had formally left ages ago. Always were a cool dude but I thought you were a shit mod back in the day who got the job on no real merit. Shitty situation though, hope you eventually have some money laying round to repay the victim & invest in 2FA, all the best.
