Ya so just heard the airline Airasia flight 8501 went missing. Anyone have any more info on this or what they think happened. Isnt this like 3rd plane thats gone missing this year ll. Thoughts??
Edit: 162 passengers and 7 of that were staff.

I believe it's the second. It lost contact with air traffic control. It's interesting how a plane can go missing (considering the size). Events like these are always sad to hear.

This. We'll see an influx of ignorant, racist clowns claiming either a conspiracy or the work of terrorists. The weather was terrible with reported lightning strikes nearby the flightpath.

Air Asia is also a budget airline which had an application to fly a number of routes from Australia only a few days ago. It'd be interesting to see the outcome of an investigation, which I pray to God does not involve any fatalities.

 

Just saw this on Facebook. Was there any resolution to this or any confirmed reason as to why it went missing?

 

The wreckage has not yet been located despite unconfirmed reports. The search operation was temporarily suspended overnight, and will resume at first light. As I said, prior to losing contact with ATC, the aircraft was flying in terrible conditions and requested an increase of altitude to circumnavigate it

 

I read that there was a plane lower but on a similar flight path at the time just shortly after this one, I'd be curious what that plane's captain thought of the conditions and such.

 

Heard about this this morning pretty sad, many think the plane crash which is probably what happened as theres no evidence of hijacking :/ Praying for the familes of the people on board, really hoping they can get past this ordeal :/

 

I don't understand how a plane can just vanish :/

 

Update: Family of passengers on missing plane are in briefing room being spoken too by airport. Hope the best for them. Weather is clear and search has been resumed.
