Avatar <1mb, can't upload GIF

Hi fellow sythe friends,

I don't actually know in which section this belongs, but I think it's kind of weird that I see some people having GIF's as an avatar with the size of >2/3 mb, but when I try to upload mine it says the GIF is >1mb, whilst it's 886kb. Can anyone help me out with this?
