Staking Tax, why is it a big deal?

As someone who wishes to RWT by using gold gained via staking, I've noticed (aside from those dismissive elitist types who think it's impossible to make money with staking, rather than just difficult as it's gambling) a lot of people talk about a Staking Tax and is why people shouldn't even bother with staking. Why is this such a big deal if the tax is quite small?

I'm in the process of getting an account trained for this and have a few months before I start doing it, just trying to be ready for it.

 

Majority of people only stake maxed mains now - it's 50/50 to win, but you only get ~99% of the pot, so you're always losing long term.

If you're making an odds staker account and not botting - you'll need the patience of a saint! You'll be standing around all day waiting for stakes for marginal odds, ontop of that, you will be competing with staking bots that will be there all day every day.

Maxed main staking for consistent profits is totally gambling and negative EV in the long run. Odds staking is still profitable, but there's way less people nowadays that don't know about odds, max hits for weapons etc. You also need increased odds to account for the -% tax each stake

 

from my side it good , alot of farmer's getting money from using bot's etc....
so lets say it is a way to gain some money back from player's !

 

There are no staking bots nowadays. Pretty sure all odds stakers are manually handled by person.

Does anyone know how much gold has been taxed out of the game and how big impact does it make to the economy?

 

I’ve been interested in this as well. Is it really 50/50 odds of winning, then with the tax, it sounds like you can’t win long term.
