So, I've posted about this before, which is probably why the account was accessed. Long story short, when staff members were being hacked back in the day, it was usually through email vulnerabilities. At that time, I set my email to either [redacted] just so that no one could recover the account via hacking an email. Well, after stepping down as staff and being gone for a while, I attempted to come back a while ago and put in a request for the account to be recovered, as you had to have a new password emailed to yourself with the database change. I never really followed up on it, as I just only had a little bit of free time. It seems like someone used that info from back then to access the account via a recovery request, as when I came back on this time, I saw two new posts on my account.

When it comes to proving the account is mine, I have full PM logs from 09-07-2007 at 02:46 to 07-27-2009 12:17 AM in a text file as a backup. I also could verify Richards old MSN Messenger, as well as some topics we would discuss when I was on the staff team, and furthermore, can show prior contact from Jagex about the private server I ran during my time as staff on here (LostPkz). On top of that, the picture being used by the account is DEFINITELY not me, as I'm sure some staff, or ex staff, remember me from the days where we would be on webcam. Not sure who's still around from that time, but I could ask Richard for a vouch on that.

When it comes to posting from a home IP, I'm in a different house, but at the time my IP would've been one from [redacted] Current IP is also a [redacted] as well. When it comes to the birthdate, I'm pretty sure I had a random one set to avoid possible recovery attempts, so I'm not sure on that.

If I can be helpful at all in this, please let me know. Video already went ahead and banned the account until I can regain control of it.

Hey NickV,

Since the account is quite old with minimal information for us to verify you, you'll have to reach out to either a current staff member or ex staff member to verify your identity (If they know what you look like). You can have them PM me on sythe to confirm afterwards. Unfortunately having logs/email access/old contacts is not enough to warrant a recovery as that information can easily be attainable if you've been compromised before.

For verification -
If they've seen you before, your best bet would be to send them a picture of yourself with this post present in the background.

 

Last I checked, video said he'd take a look at this but as there hasn't been a response from you regarding this, i'm going to assume you'd like to try some other time.
