    No action against botters

    Hello,

well, lunagang the biggest runescape help site for the dutch players have been interviewing the last dutch j mod mod moonie.

the interview was asked about botting this was the result:

this was translated with google translator and fixed some of the fails since it was in dutch.

    my own translated version:

Result 1 - No action against botting: botters are for jagex the biggest source of income, the most botters are members, to these players jagex Acts that they are taking action against the bots, but this is hardly the case, the game cant miss the botters, without them the whole runescape economy will collapse.

this one might be 100% as the dutch one but my english aint the best so i used google translator for the one on the picture.

also mod moonie has now left jagex, for private reasons i guess.

    post your opnions

Jagex will never be able to completely stop bots. They are heavily reliant on bots for income through membership, worth millions of dollars. However, they should continue to perm-ban f2p bots.

there are also 3 vids about, lunagang interviewing mod moonie, but they are in dutch, and not sure if this question was in the vid, didnt watch the whole vid, but ye im quite sure its legit, if you were dutch you would know it is since every dutch player uses lunagang for help.

and also jagex is also real world trading XD, runescape gamecard and you get a katana thing sword??

Hardly surprising. It's been somewhat common knowledge that Profit > Legitimacy.

I'm with you on this. They could at least do something with F2P bots.

As much as I dislike Fagex, they're making profits and profits equal bank.

About time a Jagex Moderator told the truth, rather than just saying "Oh! We have this super duper top-notch secret weapon we're working on to stop EVERYTHING"

Well the quote is kind of true, without bothers everything would be higher, and I think that most people would have low stats - there would be no one pvming to get better gear.

They would lose a significant amount of income if they were to ban every single bots. So I beleive this is pretty legit...

IF someone could only make a game like Runescape (browser based etc.) then there's a market to be tapped into. I am sure thre's alot of "legit" players that are fustrated, this quote (if it is real) would make them want to quit lol.

LMFAO without them the market would crash.

Im actually very surprised a JMod said this.

But this makes the legit players want to quit.

Meh not surprising. I've spoken to several pmods and they have all said something similar to me when discussing bots.

I'm sure Jagex likes botters on the inside, but I don't really think they would admit it publicly. Do you have a link to the page?

It's true if you think about it .. Runescape nearly died when they took out the wildy and limited trade.. Now that the limits gone, the economy is flying up and billions of cash are being pushed into the economy as we speak.
