Auto Responder / FindText Help!

Hi. I have 2 questions.

1. How would you go about making an auto responder? I mean, if u stick the autoresponder in a procedure it won't be running 24/7 of the time you run the script since you need to call upon other procedures.

2. I am trying to create a script to find text in RSC. I saved each individual letter from RSC into a folder and loaded the chars by doing "LoadChars2(AppPath + '...');" but it failed to find the letters. A reason why it might be failing is because in RSC, the letters have shadows.

I did save the letters correctly, giving each letter the correct decimal number.bmp and I am pretty sure the spacing is correct inbetween the letters.

The letters are pure white and the background is pure black. This might be the problem? The background being black removes the shadow from the letter making the FindText() not being able to find it because it cannot find the shadow.

Is the shadow causing the problem? How do I fix it? Color the shadow pure white?
