Auction of Mini ranks of Perm. Banned Users

im not sure if this is already a thing but I have been thinking about this for a while. I made another suggestion about remaking ranks so as long as we are on this subject I might as well throw this out there.

When a user gets Perm. banned, what happens to their minis? I mean think about it, what if someone who has multiple rare one of a kind Pokemon minis gets perm banned tomorrow? Are they lost forever? Do they get "recycled" into prize boxes or something? I can't really find a rule on this.

I think it would make sense and only be fair if a user gets Perm banned on sythe, never to return again, we can have an auction for all of his minis. Highest bidder at the end of the week gets the minis. Each user is allowed to bid as many times on whichever rank. All bids will be public via a thread. If the winner fails to pay at the end once the thread is closed, the 2nd place bidder gets the mini, and so on..

Auctions can be once a week starting Monday and ending Friday (or Sunday if we are worried about some people not being on their PC at this time, but honestly, just like eBay, that's kinda their loss).

    Why do this?

    1. Saves potentially awesome minis from going into the abyss
    2. Allows for sythe to take 50% of the profits of the sale, and put it towards site development, and give the other 50% to the person to which the user scammed (this is just a thought, I'm sure there could be problems here, but not too bad of an idea IMO)
    3. Allows sythe to keep 100% of the profits from selling each rank if the user was banned for not scamming.
    4. Auctions are fun as fuck
    5. Could potentially make sythe loads of money if the mini is rare and users get into a bidding war. I mean really, one mini can go for more than what 15% of all sythe users donate ($50) in a bidding war.
    6. If the a specific mini isn't sold, there could be a dice roll 1-x (x being the number of bidders, each given a number based on the order of bidding), if I have number 5,17,8, and the dice rolls an 8 for that mini, I win the mini for free. **idk how well this would work but I'm just winging it here***

What are your thoughts? Would this work? I would diffidently bid on various minis if they came up.

Perm banned users miniranks are already given to scam victims if requested. However it doesn't often happen as most scammers sell their miniranks OR they have like 4 which $20 if their good ones.

As to an auction, no need.

Also perm banned users can sometimes be pardoned and returned(i.e Bogdan, myself, so on) you would have our 50+ miniranks given away before we were able to even get a pardon through?

Doesn't seem very logical to me.

It is logical. You get perm banned you lose all credibility you had on this site. No one is forcing you to do something to get banned. I don't think you should lose them if you are temp banned, though.

I totally forgot about the idea that users can get perm banned and allowed back on the site after a pardon, but MAYBE, this should just be part of the deal. I mean, if YOU got banned tomorrow, you may not get a pardon. If not, I can probably estimate that your minis are worth at least $250.

I do agree that It may look bad if a user got his minis auctioned and he was allowed back on the site and didn't really take that into account or think that it was as common as it is.

BUT.... question. IF a users got perm banned for good, would you support this?

I agree with you here! I mean, unless it was a total misunderstanding (realistically most aren't), then I believe they should just be auctioned off and the funds should go towards helping fund the site

No such thing as a perm ban for good exists on this forum, users have been successfully pardoned 5+ years after the fact.

They really need to change the punishment for a Perm ban for that exact reason.

Ahh I see. I retract and good points @Divine

It is understandable, but also look at it this way. A user would be skeptical of doing something that would get them PB if they knew their minis would be taken away... but then again, maybe they wouldn't want to buy them for that exact reason... :/

As Divine said, if you were planning to scam youde just sell them beforehand,

However Ide support a temp ban removing them as a punishment.
It would maybe deter people who get temp banned all the time.

IMO seems fair to lose the miniranks. No one forced a scam.

Yes a pardon is repayment of debt and an apology; however there would have been a period of time the victim went without payment - there should be some sort of loss to the individual who scammed when they return.

Although not sure how i feel if the ban is non-scam related.

    True

Also, I find it hard to believe that someone would wait to scam until they have sold all their minis.

But I do believe that if you are banned like @papershark was, you shouldn't lose your minis.. Even if he got perm banned for dox I don't think anyone should lose for this because they aren't going out of their way to steal someone else's money, although still unethical.

Nope, never. Still voids your point about losing miniranks when banned. Kinda scummy really ;/

I suppose I better edit in my ban reasons so you can understand people don't always get banned for scamming. EDIT: It's 5 times.

    1. Incorrectly banned for Ban Evasion (ITACHItrader)
    2. Incorrectly banned by Benwise for posting a YouTube video of someone having their bank put into the party room.
    3. Incorrectly banned again for Ban Evasion.
    4. Perm banned for my Sythe account getting compromised due to a loophole in Sythe's security. They scammed someone $20. I had to pay someone back for money I didn't steal. Cunt.
    5. Perm banned and hard-deleted for archiving the 'Finn is Dishonest' thread.

Well none of these are for scamming. I am saying this for scamming or any other obvious offenses. I mean what's scummy is scammer. And say a user did get his minis taken, sythe can always just replace them at any moment if they feel it was wrong to ban the user In question. This MAY lead to the dilution of miniranks, but it also give incentive to stop users from scamming knowing they will lose thier minis. I would also not mind if a scammer who was temp banned for scamming (I mean actually obviously scamming) losing donor status.

A lot of new users come on this site not knowing people's backgrounds and see a $25+ donor and think they are legit.

Since Miniranks don't have any specific value, holding auctions for MiniRanks would be a way for users to profit at the expense of the banned user.

    Denied.
