Question to Those "Hacked" by Wbot

First of all I want to state that I put hacked in parentheticals not because I do not believe the allegations, but because I don't want to make any false accusations without hard evidence.


In short, I have two questions:

1. Has anyone's account been accessed from a foreign IP, but had a pin and so nothing was taken? And if yes, was your account still compromised (ie password/email changed or getting defense on a pure)?

2. Did any of y'all use the Microsoft On-Screen Keyboard to login and never actually type your password? I ask this because I am new to coming back to RS and when there only used to be keyloggers and not this new form of malicious software I'm hearing about.

Not had any issues myself because I don't use it. Though, i've heard some people blame the client and some people blame the bots. Either way, something isn't right with it. Either the script writers are stealing information or the client creators are.

I'd highly suggest you stay away from it.

 

I was hacked and my bank cleaned by i still use the bot to fish on a mule account and then just transfer the fish over after im done so they get nothing

 

I used to think it was Wbot that hacked my account and my bank. Turned out it was some site helding a Grand exchange vote. Such a rookie mistake. After that ive been typing my pass etc without onscreen keyboard and had no problems. I think its so highly unlikely Wbot would contain a virus that you should not really worry about it. Also people should always set a PIN. You never know what happens.

 

I use it daily, I am fine. I type my credentials in with my keyboard.

People are obviously just blaming wbot without thinking before if they have accessed any phishing website by accident, been keylogged/RAT. I doubt wbot is hacking anybody. if anyone it's the script writers, which you should always make sure they're safe.
