Decided I am going to win the lottery.

Haha, only kidding well I can always hope right. Well I noticed on the TV a advert for the Euro millions jackpot and it has rolled over 5 times so its around 55 million pounds at the moment. Also tax free and you can get a one off payment straight away so I plan on grabbing a few tickets for it tomorrow and hope for the best. So my question for you guys is do you guys play the lottery every now and again on big roll overs because I barely play it unless the jackpot is huge.

 

You do know you've more chance of being hit by a bus than winning? Google the odds of winning and rethink if you want to put it on.

I know the odds, but I still play every Tuesday and Friday, I call it the 'Poor Mans Tax'

 

Haha, well you only have one life and buying a few tickets every now and again can let you dream for a few seconds what you will spend all that cash on.

 

I used to do the lottery, but i just can't be asked anymore. I literally never win, ever. Most ive won on the lottery was like £2.40 (EuroMillions) and nothing on the Lotto, other people i know win £10 now and then, etc, helps to refuel the costs of playing, but after months of winning back nothing, ive stopped.

 

The amount of times I have played I can count on one hand, most I won was 4 numbers on the lotto and won 60 pounds and that is it. Overall I am up playing the lottery which is pretty awesome.

 

At work I have in my favourite tabs in order what I would buy...

1st is an ex-king's 18th century refurbished palace on a mountain overlooking San Antonio bay, that's around €40m...
2nd is Roman Abramovich's yacht (I know I still can't afford this but it keeps me motivated)
3rd is an Audi R8... This is probably the most down-to earth of the three, but still a few years before I own one yet lol...

I'm kind of up on the lotto... One day I went in to buy EuroMill's ticket, and I was literally 1 minute late, it was 18:31 and the guy told me they stopped selling tickets at 18:30, believable. Anyway I bought a scratch card with my £2 and won £370 on it, bit of luck maybe?

 

We can only dream haha.

 

I just turned 18 not to long ago, but I bought a ticket for the most recent 500 something million one in the U.S. and didn't win
If i received the amount after taxes, so like 250mil or so? I would probably put 100m in various banks to let the interest build. Then with the rest, hire a financial consultant and set up a lot of family and myself for the rest of our lives.

I would still finish up my current goals in college though just for the knowledge.

 

the lottery is a way for the government to get back their unemployment checks.

 

The Powerball in Florida was $580m about a week ago. My dad said he'd give me $1m if my parents won. They didn't. :<

 

jesus christ if they won 580m they'd give you 1m? your parents are greedy xD id give my son/daughter like 50m so they can live comfortably for the rest of their lives.

Lol 1m. There are always bad connotations related to lottery winners though. There are so many stories of people being murdered or committing suicide or losing their friends and family after winning the lottery.

 

It was a joke from them, anyway. They would just help me where I needed it. I have college paid for already, but as I want to become a surgeon, my first few years are gonna be rough. They want me to earn everything myself, but, of course if I'm doing awful trying to balance everything, they'd step in.

I play the national lotto twice a week, only £2 a week for the chance to be a millionaire for the rest of my life .. seems worth it.

 

Ah I don't play weekly lol, only once in a blue moon.

 

I don't play the lottery as I can't handle that much excitement in my life. I'm hardly a risk taker and it's just off the rails!

But really, I just don't bother as I know I won't win anything.
