    The Ultimate Mining Guide

Hello all and welcome to The Ultimate Mining Guide. In this guide I will teach you the fastest methods, quests to do, and more.

This is my sixth guide on Sythe, my first five being: "The Ultimate Zerker Pure Guide", "The Ultimate Range Tank Guide", "The Ultimate Thieving Guide", "The Ultimate Agility Guide", and "The Ultimate Construction Guide". They all have been verified, too.

    The Cape of Mining

The Mining Cape can be bought for 99k from the Dwarf in at the entrance to the Mining Guild, located south of the Falador East Bank, only by those who have reached the maximum level in the skill.

    Useful Items for Mining

The only thing I really suggest you getting for Mining is one of every pickaxe from Iron to Rune. (unless you are starting at a level above 1 :p) If you have 92 FireMaking, then an Inferno Adze is very helpful.

    Tips for 99 Mining...

When power-mining, you should mine in worlds with 1,900-2,000 players. Rocks spawn faster in the more crowded worlds.

You should try to buy all pickaxes and maybe an extra set before you start Mining, so you don't have to waste time buying them.

Always use familiars that give the best mining boosts and if you are banking as well the most items carried.

    Quests Giving Mining experience

Level 1: Digsite Quest (15,200 xp)
    Level 1: Enakhra's Lament (7,000 xp)
    Level 1: Doric's Quest (1,300 xp)
Level 1: Plague City (2,425 xp)
Level 17: The Lost Tribe (3,000 xp)
Level 20: Another Slice of H.A.M. (3,000 xp)
Level 20: The Giant Dwarf (2,500 xp)
Level 35: Legacy of Seergaze (2,000 xp)
    Level 40: Between A Rock... (5,000 xp)
    Level 46: Kennith's Concerns (12,000 xp)
Level 50: Heroes' Quest (2,575 xp)

    Getting Started...

    Levels 1-15 Method 1

For levels 1-15, I suggest mining Copper, Tin, or both. You can mine these in Varrock, Al Kharid, and various other mines. Unless you are really in need of money, I suggest drop-mining them. It really isn't considered power-mining, but you just go in a spot between 2-3 rocks, and mine one ore. While you are mining the ore, right click the ore you have in your inventory. Once you mine another ore, drop the ore in your inventory, and click the other rock. Then, while you are mining the next rock, right click the ore in your inventory. Once you mine another ore, then drop the ore you had right-clicked. Repeat this and you are now drop/power-mining!

    Levels 1-15 Method 2

For levels 1-15, if you have done 'Rune Mysteries' quest, you can mine Rune Essence. Just use Aubry to teleport you and bank in the Varrock East Bank.

    Levels 15-80 Method 1

Until 80 Mining, Iron is the fastest thing to mine. There are a couple ways to mine iron, depending on whether you're banking or not.

    Banking

The best place to mine iron in the game is in the Fishing Colony (northwest of Tree Gnome Stronghold), regardless of whether or not you're banking. If you use the Spirit Kyatt, you can bank in Castle Wars and then teleport back. The round trip doing that is about 15-20 seconds. Another spot that's great is the easily accessible Yanille. Iron rocks are just northeast of Yanille. It's the closest iron to a bank that doesn't require doing a quest or anything and it's not much farther than the Fishing Colony spot.

    Powermining

The 2 places that are best to powermine are South of Piscatoris Fishing Colony and Ardougne. It has been proven that the Fishing Colony spot is the best. It's the least crowded, and no quest is required to powermine. Ardougne would be my 2nd choice if I had to make one.

While powermining iron, it is possible to get up to 58k exp per hour. If you use Varrock 1, 2, or 3 Armour, then you can get slightly more as it gives you the ability to mine two ores from one rock.

Whenever you powermine iron, drop an ore in your inventory as soon as you see the ore you're currently mining appear in your inventory. If you perfect this, you can mine, drop an ore, and click on the next ore with time to spare.

At the first ore, normally click it and quickly move you mouse over to drop an iron ore that's already in your inventory (as you always do). Right as your character reaches out (and you mine right when he does this) drop the ore. You should still mine the ore if you do it right, but don't wait for that to happen. Quickly move your mouse and click on the next rock. If you do it fast enough, you should see a difference in how fast your character reacts. Then drop another ore as your character mines the 2nd ore, and mine the 3rd ore normally (don't use that technique again). If you did it right, you should notice that when you start the circle of mining again, the ore will spawn about .6 seconds later than it normally does.

    Levels 80-99 Method 1

At 80 Mining, the fastest xp in the game is powermining granite in the Desert Granite Quarry. At 80 Mining, you can get 60,000 xp per hour or more depending on your level and whether or not you are wearing Varrock Armour.

There are two good granite spots you can mine at. There are the two granite rocks that form an "L" shape (so you don't have to move to mine both), and then the other great spot is where there are two granites, and then two sandstones side by side.

For those of you who are more hard nosed and focused, the sandstone/granite spot is probably the best choice for you. It is easy to get 70k xp per hour using my spot I showed above. This method involves extreme concentration and extreme precision clicking though. One of the best things about this spot is you only need a world with about 1300+ players for the ores to spawn fast enough so it works so basically you have a never-ending supply of worlds to choose from.

Start out by mining a granite. If you've mined for a while, you'll be able to time when you *should* get an ore. Right as that moment comes, click on the sandstone that's in the same row as the granite. Now, you'll either mine the granite and quickly spin to the sandstone to mine it, or you'll miss mining the granite and quickly spin the the sandstone. You're not losing out on time if your player doesn't mine the first granite, because there's a set time between each interval in which you can mine an ore. The idea is to mine both the granite and sandstone as quickly as possible. After you mine both, drop 2 ores as quickly as possible, and then move on to the other line of granite and sandstone to repeat this process.

Now, you may be wondering "How am I supposed to get water while I'm mining at the Quarry?" Well, there are a couple methods to easily getting water while mining at the Quarry. The best way would probably be wearing an enchanted water tiara from the quest 'Dealing with Scarabaras' and using 3 Water Runes on it. You can also use the lunar spell 'Humidify' to restore your waterskins when they empty.

    Levels 80-99 Method 2

For 80-99 Mining, you can also bank granite from the Desert Quarry. Granite (5 kg) can be sold in the GE for great profit. 500g used to be the only good granite to collect, but now they made 5 kg cuttable, so now you should only be collecting granite 5kg. For this method to be really effective, I'd suggest getting hold of one of the "L" shaped spots. If somebody steals your spot while banking, I found it best to just politely tell them you were banking, and 90% of the time you get your spot back.

For this method, simply drop all granites EXCEPT for granite 5 kg. I'd highly suggest bringing along a familiar with you, (such as a spirit terrorbird) to store some granite 5 kg in for your bank. Once you get a full inventory, bank in Cwars. The fastest way to get back to the quarry is using a Pharaoh's Sceptre (I'd suggest buying about 4, and buying gold artifacts to recharge them). The Camulet is the second best way if you can't afford the Sceptre's. You can only get about 45k xp per hour banking, but you can make 30M+ going from 80-99 Mining.

    Levels 80-99 Method 3

If you are looking for cash, and can't mine granite very well, then mining gold from 80-99 Mining is pretty good. You can only get around 16k xp per hour, but you can make nearly 100k per hour.

The absolute best place to mine gold would have to be the set of rocks on Karamja, a little north of Brimhaven, in the shape of a horseshoe. The best way to mine these would be using an Amulet of Glory to bank in Edgeville then teleport to your house if you move it to Brimhaven.

If you are not a member, then the best experience is probably Gold in the Crafting Guild; even then, that's tedious and slow.

    Good luck on 99 Mining!
