I agree, she seemed to be pretty nice and have good intentions. At least their parents are arranging the meet though, that's pretty thoughtful of them. Especially since it's an xbox relationship, most parent's probably wouldn't allow such behavior.

 

She obviously don't know the dangers of meeting people online in real life.

 

I don't know what's more dangerous, her driving all that way as a 13 year old or meeting up with a random stranger who really could've been anyone -.-

 

Judging by how she managed to drive 750 miles without arousing any suspicion from neighboring vehicles and evaded anything else that would get her caught, I'd say that she's pretty smart.

Looks like that a lot of food she ate went to her brain

 

She must have been on it, if she was willing to drive 800 miles.

OP: Wow, I really don't know what to say... I'm glad she's safe and well but her parents need to have some serious discussions with her in regards to safety and the online world.

It's nice that she found someone who could relate to her and speak to every day. But she went to some serious extreme measures to see him. She could have killed herself, and more importantly other pedestrians. I hope this is a big life lesson for her and she realizes what she's done and what could have gone wrong.

Nevertheless it was an eye opener as to just how un-safe the world can be out there. She should consider herself LUCKY!

I was wondering exactly this myself, 13 year old successfully driving like 700 miles without a crash or driving suspiciously to get pulled over, pretty remarkable really.

 

E-dating pisses me off, you don't actually know the person on the other end or have ever met with them so how can you say you are in a relationship with them? It's same as with someone on here or on MSN, if you've never met/spoke with them in real life, and only communicated through voice or text, then you don't know the person. I'm impressed her dad saw sense and took the Xbox away, though, wish there were more parents like that around these days.

 

Kinda sad to be honest.

If you actually went through the entire story and video, the meet failed as they were unable to locate the boy's house. The boy probably gave the girl a fake address.

The tone of this topic was already set by the OP, so do not persecute me for my reply.

This isn't a life lesson to this girl whatsoever. She was released to the custody of her parents without any charges. Her actions had absolutely no repercussions. She won't know the full impact of decisions because her parents are absolutely ignorant people. If they care about her well-being so much, they would put her on diet and not lead a life of obesity and take her to a shrink. Better yet, talk to her themselves because it seems like they don't do much of that.
