    Bumping Threads

I've never really seen a problem with delete bumping. I heard that this was allowed at one time, then removed.

Alright, so I'm going to get to the point now. Whenever you bump a thread and the section is really busy, 24 hours is a really long time to wait until you can bump your thread again.

Sometimes your thread won't even get looked at. By the time you will be able to bump your thread again, it's already on page 5 and beyond.

I've bumped one of my threads one time and it was already on page 2 in less than a hour.

    Please look into this.

    (Nice handwritten signature here)

To be honest, I support the one day rule. I have three threads each advertising different services that I bump daily. (Well, only one of them recently as I don't feel the need to advertise the other two). I have had good results. If you are truly worried about having your thread noticed, advertise elsewhere like in your signature. Or hunt those ready costumers out ;)

It's not so much on exposure, than it is on rule interpretation.

How is 24 hours a long time to be waiting to bump your thread.
There are SO many threads on Sythe that are active, if you were allowed to delete bump everyone would be doing it the site would be extremely slow.

It would be worse off believe it or not, you'd have to continually bump to stay at the top, even then you most likely wouldn't be near the top.

    No support at ALL.

In a very active market section, 24 hours is a very long time, believe it or not.

Doesn't mean you'll do it every waking second, there will be limits. Every 8 hours is great, 4 hours would be terrific!

We don't seem to be on the same page.

Not if time restrictions were implemented.

Impatience isn't a reason to change a rule.

Come up with a better argument tbh.

I believe it was 48hours before and they reduced it to 24hrs? not sure but 24hrs isn't too long to wait.. if people are interested in your services, they're most likely for someone to post at least once before it gets rocked back.

It's 48 hours when you first post a thread.

It's not impatience. It's the fact that some rule got changed, and that's why I posted this thread today.

NO SUPPORT AT ALL, as Lym said. im trying to sell an account and god help me, hard enough dealing with the idiots who bump endlessly. Once per 24 hours is fine.

Also, I would like to throw into my argument that this would create a whole bunch of postcount spam that we do not need. No support, sorry.

Same thing as I've told Lym, there will be a reasonable time (4 or 8 hours) between each bump.

Delete bumping doesn't increase post count.

+1, another reason changing this rule is a bad idea.

IMO i should make a suggestions thread asking the time to be increased to 1 BUMP per 48 Hours instead.

Nah, how about a reasonable time between each bump of 24 hours?

Also not every seller/buyer has the time to log onto sythe multiple times throughout the day to keep bumping, this will make it harder for people who only chek sythe once a day.

Also what is the point of this anyways, everyone who previously bumped once a day will no bump multiple times a day, making your thread likely to move to page two even faster.

I cant even be arsed explaining the many reasons that I think make this suggestion a bad idea.

This is not a suggestion, it's feedback towards a rule that shouldn't have been changed in the first place, in my opinion.

1 bump per 48 hours would be horrible, IMO.

Not my problem. They'll just have to keep up with the market.

    Not my problem.

But you're able to bump more often.

Please give me reasons to why you think this is a bad idea?

I still do not agree. Maybe a lowering to 18 or even 12 hours would be suitable. But the whole delete bump thing could get WAY out of hand.

I would have supported the "post delete bump" if the there were not so many GP sellers/merchants... I can see this get out of hand if it were allowed. I know it sucks for the dedicated sellers but you're just gonna have to deal with it. 24hrs is fine.

It really depends which section you are specifying.

However the 'bump, deletion and re-bump' method is not permitted, just clarifying.

And I think this rule should stay intact, with the current one bump per day (1 day = 24 hours, which is why I'm skeptical as to why people think they are permitted to bump around 24 hours later (e.g. 18 hours)).

This is just me, but I personally will allow the following.

1 bump per 18-24 hours. I don't care if it's not EXACTLY 24 hours, but don't let me catch one after like 8-12.

As for Delete Bumping... I don't see a problem with it as long as it's not excessive. In my eyes, excessive is any more than once every 6-8 hours.

If I see bumps/delete bumps any more excessive than the numbers I just put out, I will not hesitate to infract.
