    army or uni?

Just wondering which you think is the best option.

If i decided to go to uni i'd be there 3 years and come out in debt and start on about £25,000

If i went in the army, I'd do only 44 weeks training, be in no debt and start as an officer which is £20,173.

Got a few months to decide which to do, i'm predicted the grades for all my chosen uni places and i'm phsyically fit enough for the army etc.

I'd say go to a 3+ year university, and than go in to the work force.

You will make more money + probably be more successful.

Or, you could do army + 4 year college and that would be good.

University - in Australia the Government will pay for your tertiary education provided you have a tax-file number. Sure, you're in debt, but there is no interest and you are only required to pay it off when you are able to.

44 weeks of training to become an officer? You either need 4 years of college completed or a few years in service to do OCS.

Also your talking about the U.S. correct? If so, what is your GPA and SAT/ACT scores?

If you'd only receive 11 months worth of schooling in the army verse three in college, definitely go uni. You would get a better job in the long run and be able to pay off your debt.

No... he's not using dollar signs.

Well, after like 20 years you pay like 0.01% interest or something pathetic like that hahahah :p.

Definately go to university though. You'll come out with qualifications that can get you a better job. You'll probably pay off your uni debt in your first year of work.

Also you can work part time while going to uni and make a decent amount of money.

After 44 weeks you'll highly unlikely be an officer, private most likely, If you did a good degree at Uni, e.g. Economics, Science, law etc and join an officer acadamey then you'd be better off.

I know this is hard to believe, but life goes for longer than your first year out of uni (or the army, if you go there -.-).

Go to uni. Make something with yourself.

I have the uttermost support and respect for our troops, but don't become another dollar in the defense budget.

Its spelt Hooah, especially for Army. Marines or Navy pronounce it Hoorah though, but still spelt Hooah. Nice try though.

Anyways I took the military path, it can be very rewarding depending who you are, your motivation, and how you use your opportunities.

It depends, do you have a passion for going to the army? Don't think too much about debt as it can be paid very fast considering you will have a college degree.

I would suggest going to a university because you can come out educated and dive into the work force, whereas if you go to the army, you will be roughly one year (44 weeks) behind everyone else.
