    Over kill, you can run it off a much slower computer but for the price you may aswel get it.

    HD graphics, with 1.5tb and 8gig ram.. you shouldnt have to upgrade for quite a while.

    That would run WoW perfectly.

    The only possible minute flaw about the desktop is the fact that it uses an AMD graphics card as opposed to a nVidia one, however the issue is made redundant as that PC is an overkill for WoW.

    How about Rift then? I bought it, but haven't really gotten into it because the PC I play on now can't run it to save it's life :/

    You do realise that WoW was made and optimised such that it could run on low-end PCs?

    I am aware of this, as my two-year old HP runs WoW on standard settings just fine, but I was hoping for those optimal, crystal clear max settings.

    That will be more than fine for WoW and might be able to play some newer games ok if you want to.

    It's fine for what you wanna do, but I would suggest a better gfx card for heavier gaming. The 6750 is good, but not enough for a lot of games.

    The HD is only 5400rpm which is typically as low as they come. You'll notice a slight difference with a 7200rpm or 10krpm drive but not enough for it to be a dealbreaker.

    As one of the reviewers said, there is no manufacturer listed for the blueray player which is something you might want. (it is probably on the metal casing for the player but not in the paperwork from HP)

    You could have a better proc too.

    I don't see a clock speed for the RAM.

    They bundle everything together to make it look good, but they skimp you in places most people won't think to look.
    The HD, most people see omfg 1.5tb, but they don't notice the 5400rpm
    The ram, most people see omfg 8gb, but they don't notice the clock speed.

    Processors are the same way, They get you to focus on the name and speed instead of other things like how many cores it has ect.. They get off saying it's a phenom II and some people go "omg phenom II, it must be good because 6 core better than 4 core and durrr" They hear the name with the 6 core and don't bother to look and see that it is most likely a quad core they're getting.

    They skimp you in places most people won't look. But they provide a warranty for their less than reputable parts so I guess it's okay having an alright computer that you can get replaced for free.

    Just so you know, you could probably get something more optimal for playing WoW for a lot cheaper elsewhere..

    you could save SO MUCH money if you went custom. im not even kidding you. do not spend a amd machine. you could get an i7 machine for that price. that machine is way over priced.

    Well, I really don't have the knowledge to build one from scratch, though I've heard it is immensely cheaper. If someone could assist me with that, I'd probably order the parts and build it myself :)

    that is like impossible unless it was used/refurbished/recertified

    buying the individual parts and building the system your self will exceed $550 by a good bit

    Would This Be A Good Desktop for WoW?

    Not really.

    CPU = 160
    RAM = 80
    HDD = 75
    GPU = 50-70 at most
    Mobo = 80-100 depending on options

    That's just looking at the crucial things, I'm pretty sure the aforementioned guy wasn't including things like the blu-ray player/case/psu. Even then, minus the blu-ray player it's $600-$650, which is still a very significant amount less than buying it from a manufacturer. Don't believe the prices? Go to newegg, add it up yourself.

    edit: Oh yeah, on topic.. for that price you are getting ripped way off. You could build a similar system for much less as I pointed out. Also, idk about just for WoW but that GPU sucks ass. If you're going to be building I'd suggest a budget card like a GTS 450, can get them for 90-110 depending where/when you buy and it'll run WoW maxed out at a constant/decent FPS. My system is significantly lower specs than the pc you posted and I can run Portal 2 nearly maxed out at 1280x1024 (I know, low res, but Portal 2 is way more demanding than WoW lol) with my GTS 450.

    If you're worried about building a PC it is seriously one of the easiest things ever. There are guides all over the internet and honestly if you have even just a little bit of tech sense, most of it is common knowledge. Most/all of the stuff you buy will come with manuals etc + there are excellent guides on YouTube for just about anything that lead you through it step by step. Just have someone with the proper knowledge piece together your system for you while you're buying (so you don't miss anything etc) and you should be good.
