So, in your case, why believe it started? Kind of the same concept. These is no factual basis on how the world started, so why believe it ever even started in the first place? The difference, however, been God and the world, is that the world is empirically testable, and there is a lot of evidence for its existence. There is also a lot of evidence for its age. I'm still not quite sure how this relates, though.
