Are pures ruined in EoC?

I went on the EoC for the first time today on my 80 attack pure. I managed to defeat most other pures by using dual wield rapiers. However, I realize using gear like this won't be possible in the wilderness, without skulling, and dual dragon scimitars were terrible for me.

I also tried fighting a few accounts which were around 40 defence each and I even didn't stand a chance.

Also, all of our 1 defence gear has been nerfed. (Iron needs 10 defence, addy gloves need 40 def, black d'hide 60 def)

Does anyone else think pures will be severely under powered when EoC finally launches?

They won't be dominating as much. Unless you can afford to dual wield two chaotics (rapier/crossbow). We will certainly still see a lot of pures around but imo, it will be a more fair/diverse fight between different builds than it was before. I don't understand the cries of pures we hear now, we adapted to changes before and we will adapt now. I think EoC will be good for the game in the long run.
