Are my CPU temps too high?

I've overclocked my CPU recently and my temperatures are a bit alarming but I'm not sure if it's bad enough to be concerned yet.

    Idle: 45C
    Load 53-55C

Not sure whether or not I should invest in a better cooler or what, I haven't noticed any stability issues yet but those temps seem quite high.. only post if you have actual knowledge with OCing and shit please.

Are my CPU temps too high?

Well then at what point should I start to get worried about temps? If I can push it further, I will, I just need to know my limit

As several responses are more convincing:
No, they're nothing to worry about. I'd start looking into it if they were around 65.

You could definitly have it cooler, the warning limit on your cpu should be around 80-90c. 60 - 70 should be your clock control limit. Meaning your cpu gets to say.. 75c and your system will clock down to avoid a burn out, so it will clock down untill cpu temp has gotten below the 60-70c area. Depending on your cpu 90-115c your cpu should automatically kick off to prevent a burnout, if by chance it does, don't turn your system back on for at least 45 minutes.

Good cooling, and keeping the air intake on the system (fan blades to) should be keept clear and clean.

53-55 is definitely cutting it close, mine is usually at 45 on load...

Would definitely be a worth while investment to snag a better cooler as if you don't your parts may not fry but they will definitely ware out faster.

They're higher than they would be stock, but You're really not risking anything by having them at that temperature. The only bad thing is that your cpu won't last as long as it would running at lower temperatures, but this is something most people know before they overclock. Mine's on 43 right now and I can get it to about 65 if I try. Not with general use though. It's clocked from 3.2 to 4.5ghz.

Make sure your fan blades are clean and your tower isn't full of dust. If your still running that high after that you probably should invest in a better cooling system because your computer will last longer, saving you money in the long run.
