Looking to buy OSRS account

I've been reading around and I've been trying to find an account to buy for OSRS. I keep seeing everywhere that people are sometimes likely to recover the accounts after they've been sold. The people that I've talked to want to do payment through BTC which is what makes me skeptical of the whole process.

If I give them the BTC and they recover the account a week later am I just shit outta luck? I don't want to spend money on an account that will likely be recovered and am not sure what I would do if I were to get scammed

 

If they recover the account and you paid using BTC then yes, unfortunately you've got no chance of getting that back. Your best bet is taking the time to look through someone's background - look at their vouches and see if they've sold accounts in the past, get an idea for how trusted they are etc. or you can also protect yourself by using Paypal so it has the chargeback option, although many sellers won't accept PP because of that, unfortunately.

 

Is there a smaller chance of me getting scammed off of Player Auctions or is this more just a risk that I need to be willing to take?
I'm looking to buy on this site but it seems dangerous as the only punishment that I can see happening is getting blacklisted from the site and having your account banned

 

Player auctions take massive fees and still don't protect you. Sure they have the insurance option, but you only get credit to use on PA if they have to pay that out. The account can still be recovered, as has been done many times. Just buy from someone really trustworthy, as long as you personally judge them to be so. Sure, you might have to pay a premium, but the chances of being scammed goes down massively.

 

People on here are more than likely going to want btc as payment for the account. By the same token as someone recovering the account you can recover the funds if you pay with say PayPal, so it puts people off. I'd recommend going with a seller with atleast a couple hundred vouches, a join date of 2 years plus and a high donor amount.

 

Or you could just create an account yourself and pay someone trusted to train it for you. It might cost more but you would be safer in terms of account recovery.
