    Arcane/DFS/Spectral

    I'm currently a tank range (aiming for 74 pray(rigour),75 def,94 mage,99 range). I have ccb/full arma/full slayer helm/barrow gloves/fury/ranger boots/everything I need really, except a shield.

So I'm currently debating what shield should I use. Sadly I don't have enough for divine/ely so that's out of the way. I wanted to get an arcane 'cause it looks pretty nice with full arma but spectral provides more magic defence (I have done the quest needed for them). Dragonfire shield is a good all-around shield too, providing nice defence but it's terribly ugly and reduct my range bonus by 5 or something like that.

So what I'm asking you guys is what shield I should get and why? Thanks in advance.

TL;DR : Arcane or dfs or spectral and why?

DFS if you want to tank with range.

If you're just going to be range tanking, do not get an Arcane Spirit Shield. This shield detracts from magic defense and gives a +20 magic attack, which you don't need as a range tank.

The stats of the shields are:

Spectral Spirit Shield \ \ \ Dragonfire Shield (fully charged)
    Attack | Defence \ \ \ \ \ \ Attack | Defence
    Stab 0 | Stab 53 \ \ \ \ \ \ Stab 0 | Stab 70
    Slash 0 | Slash 55 \ \ \ \ \ \ Slash 0 | Slash 75
    Crush 0 | Crush 73 \ \ \ \ \ \ Crush 0 | Crush 72
    Magic 0 | Magic 30 \ \ \ \ \ \ Magic -10 | Magic 10
    Range 0 | Range 52 \ \ \ \ \ \ Range -5 | Range 72

Looking at its stats compared to a Fully Charged Dragonfire Shield, the only major differences are: DFS has around +20 higher Stab, Slash, and Ranged defense, Spectral has +20 higher magic defense, and DFS has -5 Ranged attack.

Comparing the two, I would definitely choose the DFS. Its -5 Ranged Attack is detrimental, but it is a minor one compared to the defense bonuses the shield offers.

DFS for sure. It has -5 ranged attack but it also gives them less chance to hit you with melee. +20 compared to -5 I'd say +20 wins.

Forgetting the fact that he's using Rigor, and the Spectral gives a nice prayer bonus. Also don't forget about damage soaking. I'd go with the Spectral personally.

    DFS / Spectral.

Being an active warrer, I personally would go with the Spectral. DFS has no pray bonus, has negative range bonus, and no damage soak.

Sprectral is perfect for PvMing bosses such as Armadyl and Nex.
