[Approved]Stop users spamming the Official Donor Lounge Dice Thread with recurring unfair odds posts

The constant spam makes it harder for us to find fair odds dicing/entertain ourselves with looking at how dice duels panned out.

If you want to give people less odds, you can go advertise that in your own thread.
People obviously merching minis should go under the same treatment, although its harder to draw a line on that issue.

Basically, I believe that the "Official Donor Lounge Dice Thread" should be exclusively for people looking to dice with fair odds.

Any opinions?

I would support this. I think that the issue with many groups swapping and dicing in Runescape's darker corners as of late is that they try to hard to compete with each other.

The "Official Dicing Lounge" you would think would be a level playing field where everyone offers like-minded odds to prevent the ability of poaching customers/spamming threads that nobody even plays on.

 

I don't even dice but I'm pretty certain having autobumped posts on 'official' threads shouldn't be allowed. Support.

 

if youre only referring to posts where they put odds in the post like "53x2 pm me" or things like that I would support as most if not all of them have threads already for that, but by miniranks if youre referring to people like me who just post prices then I dont support as "fair" is subjective and I feel my prices are generally reasonable.



as for the reason of spam makes it harder to find duels, if theres an active dicing session, the thread gets spammed too and if you want to see posts ud have to search through previous pages anyway. I dont see a point if its going to happen either way.

 

You are free to create your own thread for dicing minis. But yes, it is harder to draw a line on subjectively valued gambles. I'd like to hear some suggestions on where this line may be drawn.

This goes against the rules of free market. I wouldn't support removing messages, however I will support if people were allowed to post once per page.

 

Id support that ppls shoudnt be allowed to post in that thread like doing 52x2 or 55x2 dm me for more info. Because thats litterary just spam to get more clicks. They can make their own thread where they can offer odds like that and autobump whenever they want.

you must be confused. The thread shin posted has rules that people must follow in order to avoid confusion, it's a service by sythe not an obligation. Anyone can choose to use it with their own free will. I hope this solves your question.

 

Those rules didn't just write themselves. This would be an addition to them. This is precisely what the suggestion page is for.

Correct, if you don't like it you can make a new thread "50/50 dicing only" and allow people to post just that. Or you can suggest a no odds thread.

Preventing/limiting other users from dicing the way they want to, simply because it doesn't sit within the general consensus of what may be 'fair' is anything but fair.

If you don't want to dice said users, simply do not.

Your example is akin to preventing gold sellers/buyers from posting threads if their prices are deemed to low/high.

 

I personaly dont have that big of a problem with ppls taking odds there but not the way they do it.

IF you wanna bet there post an actual bet like 500m 07 vs your 450m 07 highest out of 100 quote to accept. But not just an line like Dicing 52x2 any amount without saying what game amount and how this will be even played.

I don't feel its unfair limiting these kinds of posts on the official dice thread, because those said users can and most do have their own threads in which they can advertise any odds they want.
For people that host for profit, the dice thread just serves as a place to advertise spammy messages such as "dicing cryptos dm me" or "dicing any amount". If people are looking for a trustworthy host and do not mind paying odds for it, they will go look through the threads directly below the stickies.
There should be a place for casual 50/50 dicing and a place for hosting for profit.

As a side note, when I say fair I mean 50/50. I don't mean to come across as believing taking odds in unjust, because it's not.

 

Ah so I should stop saying 52x2, and just start saying my miniranks for 2x their value. Got it.
90% of people in the dicing place are getting / trying to get an advantage.

Funny how you are quick to call out people merching miniranks but are so defensive about your own intent. This thread addresses both "52x2" and 'dicing minis for 2x their value'.
Your argument is that you must do it to simply compete with the 90% of people that are also trying to get odds. Seems like a solution to reduce competition is to keep that sort of advertisement where it belongs, in your own threads which can be clearly seen below the official dice thread.
