[APPROVED] Threatening to Dox

So apparently threatening to dox on Discord (where most rules don’t apply) is punishable by a ban up to 6 months but threatening to dox somebody anywhere on Sythe is perfectly fine? Please fix

 

That rule in discord is not enforced, I have never heard of or seen someone get banned for "threatening to dox".

Just today I've seen half a dozen members threaten to dox one another, that rule is just never enforced on discord, and threatening isn't an offence on sythe, nor should it be.

Saying your going to do something does not = you doing it.

example;

I can threaten to scamquit $100,000, but would staff ban me for scamming because I SAID I'd do it? Not actually do it?

Should staff perhaps talk to me and investigate whats going on without banning me? Sure. Similar to if someone says "Im going to blow up a school", the US government would talk to them and see whats going on, not throw them in jail because they said something without doing it.

Okay, so just because the rule isn’t enforced shouldn’t it still be in place to discourage people from doing it anyways? Why would I only be limited to Discord? That makes no sense. Also your example makes no sense. If I made a bomb threat to a school you’d get arrested no doubt about it, even if it was an empty threat.

 

Rules should be the same regardless of origin, if that takes changing one or the other then do it. Personally, if someone threatens they should be prosecuted as if they were to do it, not really a funny joke to make IMO. Regardless, find an even ground, give it to here and discord.

Honestly this argument (alongside the other ones you had) are pretty stupid. First off, as others said you can/will get put into jail for that.

2nd : Why are you so against any kind of suggestion that goes towards this topic? Are you perhaps involved in those kind of things? Why would YOU not want to help IMPROVE the site AND their members? I'm trying to remain on topic as much as possible, but I honestly do not understand it.

As with the other thread by milotic, I will also support this thread. I see no reason why it should not be a thing.

 

As a new member to community it wasn't exactly appealing to join the discord group and seeing 5 people talking about doxing and a couple members showing pictures of other members where they claim to have got by dox. This is really no different than scamming or hacking in terms of morals and it is a great way to scare away new members from joining the community. Someone even said they would dox me the first day I joined. It shouldn't be aloud in any form, Joking or not.

just two hours ago a Teenager was found guilty of plotting a terror attack in London. It's taken VERY seriously, regardless of where you live. Unrelated to the thread, though, so to get back on topic:

Not sure why this wouldn't be enforced. DOXing should be taken more seriously, and should be reported immediately
