Minecraft Race Tournament

I have been thinking about an idea for a community event based around minecraft. The general idea is that there will be multiple servers hosted by someone (possibly myself) and various teams will compete to accomplish a certain goal (probably speed run to ender dragon). It would be groups of 3 or 5 and I would be willing to put part of a cash prize as a reward for the winning team. There would be groups of 1-3 hours sectioned off into multiple days and teams will only be allowed to play during those times. There would be various methods to prevent cheating and rules regarding acceptable mods will be decided before the games have started.

Right now I'm just looking to see if people are interested so I've attatched poll just to get an idea to see if people would be willing to participate. Would be awesome, even if you don't want to compete, if you could watch the games and encourage the competitors.

I'm pretty interested. It would have to be on cracked servers because I'm a poor kid.

 

Cool idea, but I don't think there's enough interest in Minecraft here nor the coordination involved to make this work; dc's and a bad host / internet could ruin hours of work.

 

I would assume that the person hosting the server would be reliable enough to have 5 people play. There is enough interest to at least have a little fun which is all i'm really looking for. Hope you can join in!
