He got permed one or more times, so I don't blame him considering he already had one of the core traits of moderators. Brendan's seriously a great, genuine guy though. I've been speaking to him since he got back (before anyone knew who the fuck I was at least.) And hey, what's the shame in wanting to help the site? And that he did regardless of position etc.
