    App Creation help...

I'm currently in the process of trying to create my own app, I've never made an app before and I'm unsure as to what software is available / best to use. If I'm successful at creating my own; I'm aware of others that would want a similar service.

    Just after your suggestions/advice to go about this, my main requirements are;

    - able to use on iphone/android
    - able to allow the user to select items and place an order
    - able to take payment through app (basic PayPal portal?)
    - users to create an account to store their details (name, address etc) for their next use of the app
    - email receipt of order to user once created

Any help appreciated! I've got basic knowledge of Java & Python, however if there is a software available to use for possible drag and drop and adding the functionalities to buttons that would be ideal.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sounds like you want an app builder if you want to drag and drop. Check out this link: The Best App Maker Software of 2017 | Top Ten Reviews

A bit more advanced than drag and drop app builders would be something like Xamarin, a cross platform development IDE: Mobile App Development & App Creation Software - Xamarin

And if you want to develop natively, for iOS you need a program called XCode and for Android you need a program called Android Studio.

Thanks, have you used the drag & drop software before? Am I able to deploy it for multiple OS? Also does the drag& drop software allow for an integrated payment portal?

    Thanks again

Have you looked at any of them? They usually list their features.

If you only want drag and drop, don't expect much success. Your best bet before getting into app development is teaching yourself the basics of Java, then moving onto Android studios towards an android app. I say this because when developing iOS apps, I highly recommend doing it on a mac compared to Windows as from what I hear its 100x easier.

Also, apps have to be made from scratch for both of the OS as they use different languages.

Not necessarily. Check out React Native (created at Facebook).

Have either of you two got experience in app dev? Or could you point me towards helpful E-Books/YouTube tutorials? I've been looking, however, I am finding it hard to start as a begginer (I already know basic/intermediate java). I did it for two years at uni but only developed projects to be ran in the terminal.

kmjt does listen to him. What have you tried? If it has to be for both Android/IOS then use Xamarin. There's plenty of books and tutorials on it.
