Apocalypse or Inconvenient Occurrences?

Many times, religion believing people state a belief about a pre-determined doomsday date, the Apocalypse. Many Atheists and Agnostic believers believe that the date is not pre-determined, that we set the wheels in motion.

But, this thread is for those who want to debate this crying date. This doomsday to destroy the world. Some people think that global warming could be the end for some people, not all.

Just to clear up, GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT TO BE DEBATED IN THIS THREAD.

So, to clear it up, is doomsday a pre-determined event, or an event that mankind will eventually set into place.
