If I were to purchase an RS account that has had no previous email account attached and the original owner had only been using bonds for membership, is it possible for him to recover it?

Yes. Jagex still takes into consideration things such as previous passwords, IP and date of creation, etc.
Plus, you can never really trust anyone(hypocritical I suppose since we are on Sythe)

I've even seen accounts recovered without original IP or an email. There's always a chance at recovery, sadly.

    ^ That.

Your best bet is to buy from a well known and trusted user. Even then, there is always a slight chance.

Are any of these replies from personal experience or is it based on what you know about jagex?

It's fact that if you have "some" account details, you can successfully recover.

Little bit of both, have had friends have accounts recovered, and know in general Jagex is very unintelligent when it comes to account security and recovery. Their replies are usually cookie cutter and it seems like people can dupe them pretty easily. I've even heard of people spoofing original IP locations to trick Jagex into thinking it's the original owner.

Jagex will always side with the original owner. Always. As long as they can prove they're the original owner, they're getting the account back.

I'm very familiar with the recovery system. Just curious if anyone specifically has bought an account that has no registered email and had it recovered!

Having an email attached doesn't mean anything if you can provide the other details such as ISP, creation date, payment methods, etc. If you're familiar with how it works then it seems like a pretty simple answer, lol.

You can recover through being the original owner period. All they need is to see your original ip and you can recover the account back, my advice to you is to get the owner to email Jagex and tell them that he is moving to your location and then wait a day or two and then that will make it a better chance for you.

I really doubt it would be possible, but I think the creation pw and isp is enough though? Maybe?
