Your view on "Cliques"

What is your views/feeling on cliques.

A clique is an exclusive group of people who share interests, views, purposes, patterns of behavior, or ethnicity.

Different types: jocks,preps,populars,baand geeks,and nerds.

What clique do you think you are and is there alot of cliques at your school

At my school I would say there are cliques but I mainly just try to be nice to everyone, so everyone likes me, but I personally don't assert myself as a member of any.

 

I think it's really stupid. But It'll disappear once you get out of high school.

 

Eh, I don't think that. Not really as extreme, but it still exists.

 

I think you should be yourself and that you should stop trying to be someone you're not just to fit in. The moment you start trying to make others happy, you yourself lose self happiness.

 

Stereotyping will always exist, until everyone is made identical.

I am me, i don't belong to a group.
I look like I listen to metal all the time when I really don't. I find people who dress similar to me awkward to talk to. Lol.

 

I agree with Faith. I basically be myself and people seem to like me for who I am.

 

I chill with anyone that's cool and can hold a conversation. Not really in a "Clique" but, if I had to choose one it'd be the Jocks/Preps.

 

I'm always really cool with everyone, but I mainly chill with the basketball jocks. If your actually trying to change yourself to fit into a certain clique is when it gets unhealthy and out of hand imo.

I get a long with everyone, I go to the smallest of high schools and there are still cliques. It'll all go away after high school when people grow up and realize how stupid they were.

 

That sounds a lot like a cult..

I think high school cliques are alright, in the sense that the group members have a lot in common. My school has its share of cliques, but it is relatively small so everyone practically knows each other and are friends.

 

No clique; if you're cool, I'll talk to you.

 

The sad thing is is that most of the cliques here really do fit their given stereotypes.. I generally get along with a variety of people but there's a few that I usually steer clear from

 

I don't like the idea of 'grouping' people.

People can be smart but yet, not be a 'geek'.

 

Same for me. I do hang around the "populars" and I also hang around with the homework-loving nerds sometimes. It's no big deal really. But yeah, there are cliques, and I think about it a lot. But as you do, I try to be nice to them all and stuff.

my very best friends are addicted to video games so I guess you can clasify me as a video game nerd or whatever. My cousin is a "Jock" and is in the same grade as me and goes to the same school So I also have alot of friends there but i'm never sure if it's just because of my cousin.

 

I don't see anything wrong about people with common interests grouping together. Just because you don't share their interests, doesn't mean their social group is 'stupid' or 'gay' or anything.

At the first high school i went to, my best friend was the most popular kid in school. In that school, it was the best fighters that caused you to become the most popular. I was equally as popular because i was the kids best friend and it was a well known fact, since we hung out like every weekend and were in all classes at school.

Then the second high school i hung out with the drug dealers. This was mainly for protection, since i didn't do drugs, but ofcourse i liked them as people, they were pretty funny. I had some skin head fag trying to bash me which is why i need their protection. He wouldn't go near me while i was with my drug dealing friends.

Third high school i played Runescape, so i hung out with the nerds.

 

I'm a nerd, but only my friends know that. To everybody else I am just pretty normal I guess. I get along with everybody except the major jocks who just talk about hockey and pussy, I hate those kids and we never talk.
