Anyone know what happened to my account?

Just looking for some input who has been through something similar to this:

After an RS Update, I was unable to log in to my account with the message "Invalid Username/Password"

Have full access to the email that is its username and it was created on, so I reset the password, and it still doesn't work. Have done this over 10+ times since this happened, have even had other people try it, no luck. Know all the recovery questions and answers and still use the same IP it was created on.


Some important notes and also why I think it wasn't hacked:
- No one has logged in to my email except for my IP

- On all of the password reset emails since this has occured the heading has been "Hi Character Name Unavailable,"

- RSN is no longer on the high scores, and even changed my other account to its previous RSN. Which shouldn't be possible since RSNs have a 28 day hold time.


Everyone i've talked to are convinced it was "hacked".. None have been able to explain to me how someone can steal an account without ever logging into the email, change the RSN and then override it so anyone can take the previous one, and allow me to recover the password then make it not work. Also, I have another account with the same stats/value that I used on the same computer and its doing fine.

I have emailed accounthelp but its been 5 days and I'm just curious if anyone has an answer to this.

 

I had the same problem, literally the exact same problem. The 'Character Name Unavailable' emails and everything.

Basically what happened is you got banned, most likely for botting...and for some reason Jagex temporarily locked your account. I know it sounds fishy/weird, but this is what happened. Basically what I did was I sent an email to account [email protected] with all information regarding recovering my account. They got back to me a few days later and helped me recover my account. After checking the black marks on my account, I had indeed received a macroing ban.

Another thing that was odd was that my username was changed to something along the lines of #4k5RKHFY.

 

Tbh, I never heard of this or know that it happened to anyone. If not hacked or banned, it might've been erased off the RS history I think. Maybe something happened with their cache or its been brought down by ddosers. Im just making guesses tbh but I think thats what happened :/

 

I've never heard of this happening but judging by the information you provided I'm thinking that something similar to what was mentioned above has happened.

That in mind though Jagex will have everything recovered in no time at all which is again assuming this actually happened.

It very well could be fixed by now honestly. Probably just some sort of glitch.
