Do they need to get over it? Yes, i know if you were there it would hard to get over. But its been 10 years, is it time they finally get over it? Are they still going to be remembering it 20 years from now?

    What are your thoughts?

I doubt in twenty years, but what happened still affects lots of people. After the people affected start to get over it, it will become less of a national issue.

Why does it still effect people? I mean i don't even remember anyone that died over 5 years ago, why is it so important to remember those shot 10 years ago?

TJ of course in 20 years it will be brought up. It was one of the worst school shootings. They currently just found out more information about the shooters like that they were never actually really bullied.

And you said you don't remember people that died from like 5 years ago? Sorry that you have no soul [ unless you mean you don't remember people that died that you never knew.]

it was a tragedy so it should be remembered. If i had a kid that was shot by some dumb fucker i would never forgot, so if you don't care then don't read shit about it.

If your parents or siblings were shot and killed tonight, would you forget in 10 years?

Not forget, but I wouldn't let it interefere with my life. They're dead. If you're an atheist, o well, boo whoo. That's just the end. Everything and everyone dies. The person who is dead doesn't care they're dead so stop being selfish. If you're religious or spiritual, they have simply moved on or been changed. Why dwell on it? It's natural.

Frankly, to be very honest: I couldn't give a rats' ass.
Dramas happen all the time around the world, why not memorate the school in (russia?) that was held hostage by "terrorists"? Or other things where people got hurt? I am not saying that Columbine wasn't horrible, because every single death is horrible, but I am only saying that it's way too "overrated"*.

It was a pretty huge thing back then, and it's still pretty huge for some people. The others have just moved on. Even though it happened a while back, we shouldn't forget it.

Well... Here is a story of my day today. After B period instead of free time we all got told to go gather in our meeting room. The cops had come and told the teachers to get us all together. There was this lady that played some music for us. After she was done, the teachers told us what the situation was. At the little kids school across the street there was two people that had air guns that looked like shot guns. The cops came to our school locked down all the entrances (like 4 or 5) to our campus, and posted police around the building we were in and told us not to allow anyone to leave. The teachers swept every building on campus and everyone was in the meeting room. So basically, two morons at the school across the street were trying to freak us out with a fake shooting. At first I thought it was a creeper of some sort, but after they told us it was really weird. If the music lady had not done one more song, the teachers would not have known that they were fake guns and would have told us that there was people with shotguns at the school across the street. It got me out of C period and gave us a huge lunch period. Another school nearby also got locked down. But... It was pretty cool... Having tons of cops surrounding you ready to shoot anyone that tries to come kill us. :D

Why bring it up? You can't change any of it.

    People don't have souls.

Sorry that every news channel i turn to is like "OH GAWD COLUMBINE"

I wouldn't forget, but i wouldn'[t dread on it. I would probably be like damn, such and such died ten years ago not.."OSHIT COLUMBINE"

Overall point, get the hell over it. It happened ten years ago, not last week.

Sure, we can't change that people died but we can remember what happened and what sorts of measures we can take to prevent it, and how to react to it if it does happen. It's useful information even if you don't like to be sentimental.

Does that mean you should dread it as time passes? You can't change the past, so why care about it.

That's not what I meant, I meant that you should LEARN from what happened for the FUTURE even if you don't necessarily feel sorry about it...

When you see tons of people murdered in front of you and a gun pointed at your head you would understand. Rachel's dad came to my school and showed us the dead bodies and blood scattered all around in pictures.

You're right, its something that you won't forget. But why dread on the past, ten years later?

Sorry, but im the kind of person that if i cant change it, then there is no reason to care.

In some countries, massacres with a death rate as high as Columbine are a common thing. But since we live in America and things like that don't happen that often, it's a big deal to some people. But in other countries it's much worse.

Because it can happen again. What if your one of the victims? That's like saying we all don't care.

You are right, it can happen again. You can learn from it, but don't need to dread on it.
