Fuzzy Math (Normal Solution)

Teams were given eight 3 by 5 index cards, each of which has one number on it. The numbers, in order,
are: 31183, 31689, 23407, 9362, 5103, 29847, 31597, and 18805.

Convert each of those numbers into base 2 and arrange the bits of each number into a 3 by 5 rectangle.
The 1 bits of each spell out a letter, and the eight cards spell out the final answer: SQUID INK.
