    Keto?

    Hey team,

I made the switch ages ago to whole grains away from white carbs such as
white potatoes > brown rice and quinoa
    white bread > wholemeal bread
    cut out pasta etc

I noticed a difference for sure with my energy levels.

i have now had multiple friends try a keto diet and have spoke of the same benefits. Does anyone here do keto? I would like to try it but it seems crazy going from eating no fats to making sure I eat enough. Also hate having to cut out sweet potatoes!

    Keto?

I've tried it for a few months. I'll tell you a few things I noticed when I was on it.
    1. You'll get insane headaches at the start otherwise known as the 'keto-flu'.
    2. Try to ease into keto, don't rush it. Slowly reduce the number of carbs you intake until you're at a comfortable level. I myself rushed into it full blast going from 200+ carbs/day to 15/carbs max/day.
    3. Look at the cost of keto recipes, a lot of recipes use things you normally won't have in a normal pantry and can be expensive.
    4. Learn to love coffee if you don't already. One of my favorites was the bulletproof coffee. As it will help you with your keto-flu, and give you energy...
    5. My biggest con on keto was my energy levels, they reduced A LOT. Which was okay for me for awhile as I was severely sick and couldn't really move a lot anyway.
    6. google the keto doctor, sign up for the free 1-month plan and steal all of their recipes. they are awesome, and actually taste decent.

    Keto?

Generally, a keto diet is short-term in the sense that most people can keep it up for 2 months max. Less it gets quick results but it's better to stick to something you can maintain in the long-term such as cutting out sugar and minimising carbs.

N.B. It's not safe to go on a keto diet if you're diabetic.
