Anyone have advice?

Hey, i'm looking to open up a firecaping shop, but want it to look professional.

I've been asking for banners and logos, but no luck yet, so i'm going to try myself. I'm using GIMP and i'd like to know if anyone can help me or tell me how to make text SIMILAR to the text on this thread: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=832999

Well, since I don't use GIMP (I use CS5) I can't really help you there.

But the layer style he is using is "Dissolve" I assume.

 

He's pretty much just using Font's with effects and using a brush behind them it looks like (besides the random pictures Of course).

They do it all for you. Just search on google Sig and banner making sites and you will probally find what you want
