why the hell is bursting at soul wars giving me def xp? help!

i can't work this out. im bursting at soul wars to try and get some mage xp but whenever i do its coming up with the mage, hp and defence level bit at the top of my screen showing im gaining xp in all.

i put my ancients staff to accurate and everything

help?

 

In your spellbook, uncheck the shield in the bottom left.

 

There couldn''t be any other reason^

 

coz you got defensive casting on.

go to your spellbook and at the bottom left there's a small shield icon.. make sure its off

 

Yeah un-tick the shielded box, there can't be another reason for this to happen.
